I paired these two together in STF #2892, but I wanted to revisit this combo for a slightly earlier adventure, so that I could use Daredevil's original costume. Until looking at them side by side, I never realized how similar their looks were. I'm guessing that DD would draw the line at wearing a cape though!
Seamless again. I'm not convinced that you haven't pirated an actual DC-Marvel crossover.
ReplyDeleteAnd those two costumes really match well.
Given that the DD is blind, I can't understand why he would go to the trouble of changing his look...nor even how he'd manage it.
Love the choice of the yellow DD costume.
ReplyDeleteHow hard was it to resist the temptation to entitle this "The Hour Before Dawn!" ?
ReplyDeleteSuper easy, barely an inconvenience.
ReplyDeleteHow about daredevil and dr. Midnight??
ReplyDeleteThey've met multiple times on the blog.
ReplyDeleteLike Dave said, this is seamless that it looks like it was drawn this way originally. It looks like you even took the time to balance the shades of yellow and red.
ReplyDeleteSide note: I don't doubt that erguy meant Dr. Mid-Nite, and Matt definitely has been with both Charles and Pieter, but what about Dr. Midnight (Beth Chapel)? She hasn't appeared on the blog at all, let alone with Matt. The two could even start dating -- though the ongoing partnership I'd really like to see her in would be with Photon. (Speaking of whom, I'm off to see this morning's WandaVision episode in about an hour or so!)
It's the best one yet Bob, I've taken to watching them before driving to work in the morning to avoid spoilers!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice going with the classic DD look. And I do recall seeing DD in a cape once with the red and black outfit, but can't remember where.
ReplyDeleteNice look.
ReplyDelete@Ross: Yep, watched it. To avoid spoiling for others, I'll say only that I have great hope stemming from the results of Monica's X-ray, and Darcy's final line is the best one of the episode.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think a Beth + Monica cover would be a great thing soon.
PS (probably unnecessary, but what the heck): Not only are Beth and Monica both Black women, they're also both the second in their legacy lines, yet their powers are more or less opposites. If DC and Marvel were actually into doing regular crossovers with individual characters, I'd want to write a mini-series with these two (set in the 90s, of course -- before Beth's death).
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of yet-to-meet: how about Dr. Doom vs. Judge Dredd?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: Color me for it! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother flawless cover! I’d buy this today. Great job.
ReplyDelete@Davejonz, DD changed costume colors to all red so his cane could drop red fog mist to confuse the bad guys. Didn't stay in use long.
ReplyDeleteLove this cover. How about a group of different yellow attired superheroes to give lie to it being for cowards?
My nomination for the group's leader? Bizarro Yellow Candle!
ReplyDelete@Tobor: That's a good idea in principle, though the first yellow-clad her to come to my mind is White Feather (of the Inferior 5).
ReplyDelete@Bob G, Tobor: In the flavor of misdirection, say Hi to The Goldbricks!
ReplyDeleteHave you done Daredevil & Dr Mid-Nite
ReplyDelete@Sean: See the discussion above. Matt's with Dr. McNider in #7 and #805, and as members of the Blind Justice team in #2290. (I was in error above when I said that he'd met Pieter Cross).
ReplyDeletePS: We could always get Dark Matter (or at least Cloak and Obsidian) going after a Mafia boss in "Darkest Before the Don!"
ReplyDeleteBetter hope it's not Don Estacado...alias The Darkness!
ReplyDeleteUsing their powers against him would be like importing steel to Pittsburgh!
I'd like to see Hourman's son with DD but probably would be tough to find a cover.
ReplyDelete@Cary: Good call! That would make for an interesting story!
ReplyDeleteI so miss new adventures with The All-Star Squadron in WWII. That's all I got for this.
