Shazam! Fury of the Gods looks to be a jam-packed film. Its got a whole extended Shazam Family to deal with, with promises of DC character Cameos, Sivana's return and presumably some Gods are going to be furious. Still, I hope there's plenty of room left for the antagonist teased at the end of the first film - Mr. Mind! He is one of my all-time favorite villains and I love that he is finally getting a big budget movie treatment.
Godzilla would never team up with Mr. Mind. That's a disguised Mechagodzilla!
ReplyDeleteA morphing Mechagodzilla? Maniacal!

The Maleficents
Did Mr. Mind use an enlarging ray on himself?!
ReplyDelete@Ross & Tony: Actually, it's a Mind-controlled larval Moth-Ra.

Godzilla's just trying to keep him from going into cocoon mode!
Mr. Mind clearly has found a way to make himself huge (probably using stolen Pym particles), and is mind-controlling Godzilla.
ReplyDeleteAs for the movie, my impression is that Mr. Mind is going to be the primary villain for the sequel (and I think that this is the first time I've seen/heard the title). I also think that it's a pretty easy call that the post-credits scene will feature Black Adam.
And Godzilla... maybe he's who the Inferior Five should go up against next time they show up here.
GREAT cover!
ReplyDeleteBut so misunderstood! Just look at Mr M's expression, the look in those bug eyes. No villainous intent here. He's gazing at Godzilla and thinking at last he's found his Mrs Mind!
Well, the 1967 Showa-era sequel, SON OF GODZILLA, did seem to indicate Minya's dad was parthenogenic. What you might call LBTGodzilla!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Godzilla has decided to make a meal out of Mr. Mind. Though since Mr. Mind does resemble a caterpillar, I could see Mothra deciding to protect him.

Why does "Godzilla and Mr. Mind" bring flashbacks of "Bambi Vs Godzilla" to me? :) :)
ReplyDeleteRoss, I think that Nathan has just given you the back-up feature for next year's April 1 cover. It can be a photo cover with Green Lantern and Howard the Duck. ;)
ReplyDeleteNEXT The sequel to #2194! Mr Mind going against Mighty Mouse!
ReplyDelete@Bob: Daffy Duck (as "Green Loontern") and Howard would be more appropriate.*
ReplyDelete*"It's a loon! It's a tern! It's Duck Dodgers of the 24.5th century!"
@Det. Tobor: don't forget Generalissimo Brainstorm and the Brain Emperor.
ReplyDeletemaybe call it Brainz Are US!
ReplyDeletePinky, are you thinking what i'm thinking?
@Cary: Two problems with that. One, Daffy is animated, and I was suggesting a photo cover. Two, the "Green Loontern" incident is generally considered good.
ReplyDeleteSplit the difference, guys: have a photo-shop of Ryan Reynolds, as GL, returning Howard (post-Collector's item) to Earth.
ReplyDelete@Anon1025: I could live with that*
ReplyDelete*It's better than the "loonternative." :-)
