Starfire Vs. Darth Vader

Long time visitors to this blog know that these two have a bit of history, which Darth Vader is referring to here - Starfire first ran afoul of the Empire in STF #397, and was taken hostage by Vader in STF #398... Oh, and her marriage to The Silver Surfer was resolved in STF #2200, if you're curious...

  2. Marvel/Disney is that protective of their intellectual property that they made you belabor the obvious with such a big disclaimer? Lol!

  3. "Darth Blackfire." That actually has a suitably menacing ring to it.

Although, Darth Sinestro's would probably be bigger. ;-)

  4. It's more about my covers being used on other pages without credit. It's been getting out of hand lately.

  6. @Ross: You gotta know folks will just crop out the white sections. Maybe you could redo the STF logo at the top so the URL is between that title and "presents," so cropping is impractical (and the credit isn't quite so obtrusive).

  7. PS: I learned recently that Vader is a legitimate, actual surname. That's good news for me, as I can now use, as a character, a structural engineering professor named Ella Vader.

  8. Ross, your ideas are brilliant and your talent is a delight. It's such a shame that your property is being appropriated so baldly. I'm sorry that you have to put your disclaimer (claimer?) on your pages, and I hope you start getting all the credit your due!

This is a slick idea. Tamaran in the Star Wars universe could lead to all sorts of fun... Superman vs Vader, the New Titans fighting off a squadron or two of Imperial Troopers, and such other fun. (And across the street, Chewbacca and Sasquatch would be great fun!)

    Good luck to you, sir!

  9. I delved into the back issues and found the Starfire/Surfer marriage. More of that please.
And to whoever is ripping you off without credit, a double dumbass upon them!

  10. @Bob Greenwade: not to mention her Scottish cousin, Ian Vader.

For the record I did use one of your covers once but gave proper credit and listed the URL to the site in the caption. It was used to highlight a review of the Batman/Ninja Turtles crossover movie trailer by nothing the crossover we still all want to see. It's a shame people are using your work without credit, but I'll still take it down if you wish.

  12. No need, I'm more concerned with those that regularly take the new images just as they are posted here.

So Ingram Vader, known to friends as In Vader, is real? oK!

Starfire looks like she's aging a bit. How many decades has she been here now? Same for Robin to Nightwing?

  14. Well, I can't be a hundred percent sure. But, I think Tamaraneans enter puberty when their Little Orphan Annie eyes go from pupil-less white to pupil-less gold. After which, they're fully grown when the green pupils become 100% visible.

"That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it."
