Rocket Raccoon and Metamorpho

I recently picked up the first TPB of The Terrifics, and they were some of the funnest comics that I have read in a long time.  I am very happy that Metamorpho has found a new home, he's one of my all time favorite characters.  I'm a fan of Mr. Terrific and Plastic Man as well, and I always thought that Phantom Girl was one of the cooler Legionnaires, so I am intrigued by this new version.  Plus, Tom Strong is back, and interacting with the DCU! There were a few artists on the series.  They are all great, but I really loved Evan "Doc" Shaner's work and I hope he stick around.  His Rex Mason looks perfect!

  1. Would Rocket want his leg too? Have you done a Rocket and Ch'p team up? Or even Rocket and Squirrel Girl? Ch'p and Squirrel Girl?

  2. Maybe Squirrel girl could even be a humanoid species evolved (through primate-like ancestors) from SQUIRRELS!

  3. On Pop Culture Shock Therapy today, a roommate of the original Battlestar
Galactica's Starbuck dreamed that he was a woman (an allusion to the reboot). Maybe it, or a similar comic strip could have G1 My Little Pony characters have nightmares about being feminine human-like eye candy (in other words, Equestria Girls).

  4. @Anonymous 2: maybe such a comic strip could reference(?), for the Christmas season , Baron von Frankincense. (Frankenstein, Frankincense; Get It?!LOLXD).

  5. Today's cover would definitely be a great tie-in between AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and a Terrifics-based movie. Unfortunately, I just read the latest issue of the latter, and a lot of the dialogue...

...made it seem like the series is already being cancelled. :-(

  6. Maybe Rex Mason wasn't a good dancer, but has anyone noticed he has two left feet?

Great cover. Would be a fun story.

  7. I like The Terrifics too.
There have been jokes that their creation was DC taking advantage of Marvel ceasing to publish the Fantastic Four, or at least a creators' tribute to the latter group: Wait until you see the main villain in their more recent stories!

  8. @The first anonymous: maybe Squirrel Girl is an In-rodent from just such a parallel Marvel alterniverse. Similar to how the Gibbon seems to be an In-simian from the Marvel Ape-verse!

  9. I was excited about "The Terrifics", but after reading the first trade I was underwhelmed. I hope the creative team gets a chance to improve on the direction and purpose of the series, not to mention the character interactions. It was good, but not great.
