Now that the Disney/Fox deal is nearing completion, I am really looking forward to what the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe holds, and number one on my list is not just a proper version of The Fantastic Four, but the fact that such a film will allow for something that I have been waiting to see on the big screen my whole life: a Thing/Hulk fight! I always lived their rivalry in the comics and was thrilled at the animated battle they had in the second season of the 90's Fantastic Four cartoon. Come on, Marvel - make it happen!
Sorry, Ross. But, my money's on Bruce Banner.
ReplyDelete"Mr. Grimm? Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!"
WHOA! Hydra...going up against Michigan's favorite (MPD) son?!
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd feel sorry for a bunch of green-clad subversives.
Badger is actually from Wisconsin
DeleteWith all the great CGI out there, why can't they make a decent looking Thing. I love Ben Grimm. His appearance in the comics is awesome, but in all the movies his looks are just so off in appearance, it is distracting. Am I along in this thought. Does anyone else think that the movie versions of the Thing should resemble the ever loving, blue-eyed Thing of the comics?

May I suggest an obvious pairing that hasn't been done yet ? Fantastic Four and Elementals.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
@ Anonymous: as long as they CGI a classic Ben Grimm, and not the sorry look he sports these days. He has PROMINENT EYEBROW RIDGES, artists!!! No more of the horrible Cine-Grimm Michael Chiklis profile.
ReplyDeleteRather than straight CGI, I'd say use motion capture. Michael Chiklis wore a SFX suit because CGI at the time wasn't so good (it was at his own insistence, a decision he began to regret every time he had to relieve himself), but when we see the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok -- or, even better, Caesar in War for the Planet of the Apes -- one can see the potential in doing the Thing that way.
ReplyDeletePS: Has the Badger ever met the Ferret?
@Carycomic: I think you mean "Wisconsin's favorite (MPD) son." Michigan would be Logan of the X-men's favorite state...if he wasn't already Canadian. LOL!
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: the Centaur version, the Malibu version, or the Golden Age Timely version?*
ReplyDelete*Reportedly killed off in a mini-series about the android Human Torch.
I'd like to see Badger (First) meet Rad I (Americomics).
ReplyDelete"Hulk is bigger Hulk is Stronger!" - The Incredible HULK. "Hulk Is Slower Hulk is Dumber." - Mrs Grimm's Bouncing Blue Eyed Baby Boy & Aunt Petunia's Favorite, Benjamin "Benjy" J. Grimm. on Fantastic 4 World's Greatest Heroes (2006)
ReplyDelete@KD: Thanks. Anonymous already informed me.
ReplyDelete@Cary: Any.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute... Aunt Petunia?
