Justice League of America and Justice Machine




The new Justice League trailer has been released and it looks like they are addressing a lot of the issues that folks have had with DCEU films up until Wonder Woman.  It definitely has a lighter tone and brighter visual palette.  I am still not sold on the Flash costume, but the rest look pretty good to me.  The action looks amazing, hopefully they will have a solid story to give it all heart and meaning.

    I'll wait for the actual release of the film to decide whether or not I like it, and post same @Imdb. As for today's cover? Thank you, Ross, for debuting a depiction of Justice Machine, here! They were one of my Top Ten favorite indies during the initial boom of the late Eighties/early Nineties.*

    My personal opinion is that the Comico series of Justice Machine was the best incarnation of the team. The original 5 issues from Nobel Comics were good, but did not get me hooked on the team. The Comico series did. Which is why the Innovation series that came afterwards was SO disappointing.

    COOL COVER! I always think a team looks niftier with a giant on the roster, and Justice Machine had a lot of potential. Glad to see they're not entirely forgotten.

    I notice this image doesn't include Demon... and I believe he is currently dead? Great bit.

    One thought... I think this image was pencilled by Mike Gustovich and inked by John Byrne. Or am I entirely wrong?

    Just my half-cent's worth: I like the CW's The Flash costume. I liked the '90's The Flash costume. If this Justice League's The Flash costume is something Barry Allen put together himself - MAN!

    I try not to follow any news or previews anymore so I won't be disappointed - which is pert near impossible anymore...

    Been waiting for the Justice Machine to appear since I found this blog. It was one of the first indies before Elfquest I read regularly and I followed them company to company.

      @Glenn Host The Justice Machine by Comico was my first independant comic as well. It was the first time i decided to give a non-DC or Marvel comic a chance.Little did i know that a decade later i would be exclusively buying indepedants and european graphic novels.

    Man, I haven't thought about the Justice Machine in years. I met Mike Gustavich back in the day: he inked a lovely Mike Grell pencil sketch for me that I got when Grell was doing Sable at First, at the old Chicago Comic Con when it was still downtown. I even have a couple of original JM pages.

    Wonder what ever happened to him?

    A better question: will there ever be a team-up between Deadpool, Ambush Bug, and the Badger? They're three of the craziest anti-heroes in comics, today. And I could just hear one of the first two going: "Badger?! We don't need no stinkin' Badger!"

    It's a hard find, but there was a Justice Machine supplement for Palladium's "Heroes Unlimited" RPG over 30 years ago, much of its art by Gustovich, including (IIRC) a wrap-around cover. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jgxtp2ga75a2627/WIN_20160416_02_03_47_Pro.jpg?dl=0

    A few years later, it was replaced in the HU lineup (even its catalogue number) by Villains Unlimited, which redid the new powers introduced in JM (as they created new power types specifically for the JM characters), with characters of the company's own creation.
