My father never really understood my fascination with comics growing up, but comic strips were another thing. He enjoyed strips like
For Better or For Worse,
Robotman,
Mother Goose and Grimm and especially
Calvin and Hobbes. It was nice to have something that we could both enjoy despite the difference in our ages. And hey, now that I am showing him and my Mom my favorite superhero flicks for movie nights, he's even coming around to what I loved about comic books.
Awesome!!! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteA truly MAD-cap cover. ;-D
ReplyDeleteFunny cover, Ross.... And I like your father's tastes in comics strips.
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteThere was a Grimjack issue were a middle age Calvin was shown working at a murder-for-hire business. No really.
My Dad got me into comic strips, and though he never shared my level of interest in comic books, there were two titles he really enjoyed that we could share and talk about: Kamandi and Jon Sable, Freelance.
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorites, and a good match and good situation! Interesting how their styles mesh well!
ReplyDeleteCalvin/Joker... with the Joker declaring that Calvin is "too weird"...
ReplyDeleteYou know you want to.
I second Simreeve's motion.
ReplyDelete"Run for the hills. It's the Apocalypse!"
i’ve said for some years that when we lose Sergio, i will stop collecting comics for the loss of his Humour would be too much,
ReplyDeletei love his stuff, and my collection is now large enough that i will not live to re-read it all…
yeah i do love today’s cover….
