Promethea Enters The House of Mystery

I was glad to see The House of Mystery make an appearance in the Justice League Dark animated feature.  While I thought that having Black Orchid as the embodiment of the house was an interesting spin, I did miss seeing Cain and Abel.  I was hoping they would show up during the run of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but no such luck.  Perhaps they will finally get their chance on Justice League Action.

  1. They did show up in the Brave and the Bold companion comic, I think...

  2. Linked, however tenuously, to today's cover, have you had the Swamp Thing meet the Thing?

  3. The House of Mystery and Cain made an appearance on Justice League Action in the Halloween Episode.
Had not took the time to notice before typing this that they made the acronym JLA. Silly nerd I am.

  4. One of the best things about Gail Simone's Secret Six was that they set up shop in the House of Secrets. If not for the stupidity of Flashpoint, Simone had an arc ready where the team had to survive the House.

  5. I thought Promethea had _already_ brought about an "apocalypse" in the ABC imprint universe. Tom Strong and the other characters being the only superheroes to ever be grateful for their failure to stop one!

Please don't tell me DC is going to make that a once-a-decade event as well.

  6. This is a very interesting cover. I had to go look up Promethea, and once I'd read a bit I could see how the story would be extremely compelling. (And now I'm interested in reading the series!)

If you can find a suitable pair of images, she might also be a good story-mate for Stan Lee's version of Wonder Woman. (I think I'd rather see that version of the character make her debut opposite Captain America, though, as a complication for their romance.)

As to the House of Mystery, I still think that it would be an interesting place for Spider-Man to encounter.

And for the Anonymous above, the Swamp Thing/Thing team-up goes all the way back to the days when this was Marvel Two-In-One, here.
