I am a giant fan of the Pixar movies. I am always impressed with the quality of the writing, character design and animation. I think they have a great track record, I have enjoyed pretty much everything that has come out of the studio, even some of their sequels which weren't huge hits - they never seem to phone it in.
Wall-E is one of my favorites, especially the dialogue-free first half of the film. It was amazing how much they made me care about these simply designed robots through their unspoken interactions.
I know what you mean, Ross. I just saw FINDING DORY, last night! Not bad. But, only three stars compared to the original film.
ReplyDeleteAs for today's cover? Pretty good! I can easily see Disney/Pixar doing this for real (even as an OVA). They could even go so far as to make the villain... the Great Heep Mark II.
Hmph! Looks like you've got a bunch of robophobes out there, Ross.

Come on Ross, Woody and Jonah Hex, please...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Anon. Ross could even entitle it...COMES A SIXTH HORSEMAN!*
ReplyDelete*We are talking about Woody Harrelson, right?
No, Pixar's Woody. Continuing the theme from today's cover.
ReplyDelete@ My namesake: Darn! I thought you meant everyone's favorite redheaded woodpecker.
ReplyDelete"Hoo-hoo-hoo-haha! Hoo-hoo-hoo-haha!"
Anon2, no, he's gone off somewhere with Groot.
ReplyDelete@Anon1: in that case? RIP, Groot!
ReplyDelete;-D
Groot may be saved: Here comes the original Green Lantern. Hang on...wait a minute...
ReplyDeleteOh, I see. It was just the Scarecrow's fear-omones making Groot experience his worst nightmare.

On this site, the background presumption is that all comics are DC...
