I revealed that these two were siblings on a previous STF cover, and I have been wanting to revisit that relationship ever since. They just seem to me like they would make a good team, each are street level heroes that would rather use arrows than guns, they even kind of dress alike. Make sure you stop in tomorrow to see the twisted ending to this shocking tale!
I bet their looking for their parents, right? Or another family member? Can't wait for the thrilling conclusion!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm! Barton? Bertinelli? Yeah, I can see Clint's last name being changed to something more safely American-sounding because of some kind of vendetta against his biological father.
ReplyDeleteIf only Marvel and DC could've had more writers like you during their heydays.
I miss Hawkeye's mask.
ReplyDeleteIt seems as if The Batwoman has replaced The Huntress in the rebooted DC Universe. Well, ya can't say her character wasn't given plenty of chances to come into her own post- Crisis on Intfinite Earths. I loved her how her character was portrayed on Justice League Unlimited as well. I don't understand how DC/Warner can make such a mess of things with these constant reboots and continuity changes.
ReplyDeleteRoss, after three years, I am all out of suggestions for you! You have literally DONE THEM ALL, and then some. Your own your own now, sorry! ;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks, in that case I hope I come up with some new pairings that you like as well!
ReplyDeleteBertinelli? That's the much missed Helena Wayne.
ReplyDeleteI love the long lost relatives covers. It sounds weird, but do you think the Guardians of the Universe could be distantly related to the smurfs? Little blue good guys.
ReplyDeleteWe need THE PHANTOM and PHANTOM LADY team-up!

ReplyDeleteAnon,
Why stop there? Why not include THE PHANTOM STRANGER, THE PHANTOM EAGLE, THE BLONDE PHANTOM, PHANTOM GIRL (from the LSH) and DANNY PHANTOM versus THE PHANTOM BLOT and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA?
Don't forget the Phantom of the Muppet Show
DeleteOne of my favourite of Ross's covers is the Phantom meets the Phantom Stranger http://braveandboldlost.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-phantom-and-phantom-stranger.html?m=0#links.
ReplyDelete@ 2nd Anon: Unless, of course, Helena Bertinelli was left on Thomas and Martha Wayne's doorstep when Bruce was still a toddler. Their tragic deaths could be written up, by Ross, as a thinly-disguised attempt to kill the heiress apparent to the Bertinelli crime family!
ReplyDelete@ 3rd Anon: You left out Jonathan "Funky Phantom" Muddlemore.
And add Fantomas to their opponents?
ReplyDeleteJust THE PHANTOM and PHANTOM LADY team-up on some night time mission would be really cool.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the Phantasm from the animated Batman stand-alone film (which was made into a comic, so it shouldn't be hard to find images).
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea and concept actually. I guess it could work. Just gotta' say though, I as I look at that particular rendition of Hawkeye you chose, just how much of a solid and seriously underrated artist Mark Gruenwald was. Wonder why he didn't draw more.
