Lightning Lad Vs. Electro

With the teenage combatant movies (Hunger Games, Divergent, The Maze Runner, etc.) being all the rage, and superhero movies being the new blockbusters, I think the time is perfect for the Legion of Superheroes to hit the big screen.  DC seems to want to lay out its cinematic universe in a certain order though, so it may be a while before they expand into their future characters.  I say, dive right in - let's see the LSH - and throw in a Batman Beyond movie while you're at it!

  1. Great cover! Awesome team-up!
I am a DC. As a DC fan, from what I've seen of the live action direction, I'll stick with animation and the comics. Iron Man has proven that super-hero films can be fun and irreverent and serious. It doesn't have to all be grim and gritty. Most of the young adult books-to-film pose a dark future. The Legion is more of a Star Trek version, where we all learn to get along...even though there's still crime and evil.

  2. After what I said on yesterday's cover, I simply can't pass up the opportunity to call this story very shocking! #BadPunNoCookie

That aside, I totally agree with your wish for an LSH movie. It hadn't occurred to me until you said it here, but it would be very cool. Start with the core group of the dozen or so most iconic characters, and any more can go into the sequels!

My idea for that "initial core" would start with (using the Silver Age names that I'm most familiar with) Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, Chameleon Boy, Phantom Girl, Shrinking Violet, Triplicate Girl, Bouncing Boy, Colossal Boy, and Brainiac Five.

And for some reason I've always correlated the Guardians of the Galaxy as being Marvel's true counterpart to the LSH. I'm not sure why; I've never had occasion to read any GotG comics (something I hope to remedy within a year).

  3. They're going to be including time travel in The Legends of Tomorrow TV series, so maybe we'll see the LHS there.

  4. I'd rather see LSH on Supergirl. Makes more sense that way.

  5. You're more likely to see a big-screen version of Valiant Comics' BLOODSHOT, before DC ever does the same thing with LSH.

  6. @Anonymous: well, we finally did get a "big screen version of BLOODSHOT." Now, all we need is the proper director, producer, and writer(s) for what could be tentatively (if not, with any great originality) entitled...LSH THE MOVIE!

I nominate, as my favorite choice for director...Guillermo Del Toro.
