What if Iron Man survived using the Infinity Gauntlet, and it was he who chose to return the stones throughout history? Perhaps we could have seen an adventure like this! The Rocketeer and Iron Man faced off against Godzilla in STF #538...
I can see an ex-con like Eel O'Brien having a few encounters with a superhero lawyer. It would be cool to see these two in action together.
The ruler of Apokolips really needs to lighten up a bit. Will a beach day with these two do the trick? I doubt it, but it would be fun to watch.
Denny Colt is known for getting himself out of tough situations, but he may have met his match here. Let's hope that he can convince the jade giant to work with him against a common enemy!
One of the things that I hope to see in James Gunn's DCU is the relationship between Green Arrow and Black Canary. Arrow touched upon it, but that series was much more interested in the archer's feelings for Felicity Smoak. I think that Gunn is a fan of the characters, so hopefully he has some plans up his sleeve.
This is a suggestion that comes from not one, but two Patrons of this Blog - Jeff O'Hare and Ivan Shablotski. I never caught the series back in the day, but from what I know about it, Jonah Hex would have been an interesting addition. I can only imagine what he would make of James West and his contraptions.
Captain Marvel is no stranger to talking animals as allies, and has his own roster of bizarre villains, so a team up with Howard The Duck wouldn't seem all that out of place for him. I think that a writer could have a lot of fun telling this tale.
Bugs Bunny dug his way into a lot of interesting locales in the cartoons that I watched and enjoyed as a kid. It might have been fun to see him find himself smack dab in the middle of of Tolkein's world. Sauron wouldn't know what hit him.
Moon Knight is no stranger to battling supernatural adversaries, so this match up seems right up his alley to me. Who comes out as the victor here? I guess it all depends on what incarnation of Grundy we are dealing with.
Can even Dr. Leonard Samson help these battling Tamaranians find some common ground, or would he just get caught up in their ongoing feud? I don't know, but it would be fun to read about!
Captain America first encountered the JLA way back in STF #250..., an early MS Paint effort. It looks like his investigation there took a dark turn, leading to this long-overdue sequel!
Katana and Iron Fist have fought together before on the blog. They battled Davos in STF #1997, and first the killers of K'un L'un in STF #3104. This time, they seem to have run afoul of the Foreground Sword Guys!
I was more a fan of traditional superhero fare than I was of sword and sandals epics like Conan. Still, his stories seemed to attract some of the greatest artists in the industry. That was enough for me to want to check out an adventure here and there. John Buscema and others truly created some gorgeous artwork when contributing to the genre.
This is an example of where I had an image to use, but the printing quality on it was low. In those cases, I have to "recolor" through use of the clone stamp tool. It can be time consuming, but it is a necessary step for a cohesive cover. Wouldn't you know it, for this particular splash page, I did find a nice crisp clear image of it just a couple of days after I had completed the cover! I could have saved myself a lot of time if I had found that sooner! Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:
