X-Men and The Creeper

Goodness knows that the Professor has a few skeletons in his closet. I'm not sure the Children of the Atom would take to kindly to Jack Ryder snooping into their headmaster, and that conflict would make for and exciting tale.

  1. So a new cover just after midnight. Love the early bird special. A great idea for these two different forces to engage each other. I'm glad you chose the original team as the '75 team would probably be able powerful enough to stop/defeat the Creeper with a teleporter & a metal man on board.

  2. Jack learns about good guys who want to keep their secrets for their safety ...and he wants to expose them anyway...nah, he's not crazy. Just nuts!! And no one will ever trust him, not even The Question!! Charles could try mental workings, but it might not keep working. Professor, you have one heck of a test to pass!

    1. Maybe Jack was investigating the disappearance of a USAF officer named Christopher Summers and his family in relation to UFO's. And he started by interviewing an FBI agent named Fred Duncan.

  4. This cover gave me a couple of fresh ideas for you, Ross.

First, we've seen the Creeper team up with Spider-Man three times so far, including #1... but what about Jack Ryder and Peter Parker? They could start working together on a story, and quickly get in over their heads where they have to get out of trouble without revealing their secret identities to each other.

Second, given that the X-Men are the "Children of the Atom," how about a story playing on that nickname, pairing them up with Al Pratt?

    1. Or the Children of the Atom from the Fallout series?

  5. ^ He should call the tale "Children Of The Adam" & team them up with their real parents Adam & Alanna Strange. Being born on Rann gives the children of Earthlings super-powers (mutants). The Tornado Tyrant can replace Magneto = the leader of the original 8 member Brotherhood of Evil Mutants team.

  6. The Creeper image in this tale mirrors how Spidey foe Kangaroo sometimes leaps (as well as other characters). Maybe you should create a team of leapers in the future (maybe called Jump Start?).

    1. Would that include the Hulk? He can leap further than anyone except maybe Superman. And for that matter how about Superman? You know, leaps tall buildings in a single bound? Or are you just talking about the wannabees like Frog Man and The Leaper? :-)

  7. Did Creeper imagine he could pass himself off as Nightcrawler here with the original group of X-Men? Great way to demonstrate he really is crazy if so.

    1. Interestingly enough, Wagner and Ryder were briefly amalgamated as the Nightcreeper (!) in a DC/Marvel collaboration, some years back.

  8. P,S,---I'm surprised you didn't have GL Ch'p and Squirrel Girl teaming up for Groundhog Day.

    1. I mean, it's over ten years since they last worked together, side-by side!

  9. On second thought, disregard my first posting here. I now think that this is part one of a two-parter...with the conclusion being today's cover!
