Iron Man, Katma Tui and Flash Gordon
A triple dose of Gil Kane goodness would be more than enough for me to want to pick up this issue! He is definitely my all-time favorite Marvel cover artists for a reason.
I'd definitely want to read this one. It's interesting when a seemingly random group of characters somehow fit together perfectly. Especially for a certain kind of outer space adventure, in this case.
Have the Defenders of the Earth lost two-thirds of their charter members? Or has Ming the Merciless forged an alliance of convenience with that dragon-controlling sorceress...Arya Stark?
I was wondering what these three had in common; but of course, Gil Kane. It's a nice blending of the art, Ross, and while Katma might have a mission on this planet, it'd be interesting to see how Tony gets involved in the story.
Was that from a comic cover? I have a collection of Flash Gordon comics, regular paperback novel sized, that I got as a kid, "The Ice Dragon", that used this Flash Gordon cover...minus the superheroes, of course.

ReplyDeleteYes, it was. Gold key I think.
ReplyDeleteWhat an offbeat trio to pop up on a cover. I love it!!! It's nice to see more Katma on the blog too.
ReplyDeleteDiabolic! Simply diabolic!! Raising 'Kane' is great way to start this month!
