Superman and Ghostbusters
Seeing Ghostbusters and Superman II in the theater as a kid are two of my favorite movie memories. I wanted to find a way to combine those two franchises and the using Phantom Zone villains seemed like the way to do it.
Maybe Filmation’s Ghost Busters could meet Hanna-Barbera’s Pac-Man; the ghost villains turn into eyes like ghost monsters when zapped, and Prime Evil resembles Mezmaron.
Dear Ross: There's a running gag in the new Xmas action-comedy, "Red One," that's inspired me to ask if, the next time you do a movie poster simulation, could you do one featuring Chris Evans and Gal Gadot as Cap and WW?
You could follow this up with Ghostbusters with Men in Black!!
ReplyDeleteI love this Phantom Zone alien Ghosts!! Beautiful!!
ummm, Where's Winston??
ReplyDeleteInvestigating reports down in Salem, North Carolina of a giant inky-black spider and a guy in a green leotard wearing a fish bowl for a helmet.
DeleteP.S.---seamless job on today's cover, Ross. I bet you could've even incoporated a photo-capture from the new Thunderbolts' trailer! :-)
ReplyDeleteFor all we really know, the Phantom Zone is where the Ghostbusters have been sending all of those ghosts in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThat'd be a great premise for a sequel: DOOMSDAY VS. GOZER (as Capt. Sta-puft)!
DeleteMaybe Filmation’s Ghost Busters could meet Hanna-Barbera’s Pac-Man; the ghost villains turn into eyes like ghost monsters when zapped, and Prime Evil resembles Mezmaron.
ReplyDeleteOr, failing that, how about Man-Bat vs. Blackwing? Or Darth Vader vs. the Saticons?
DeleteI can see it now: DARTH ZACHARY...DARK LORD OF THE SMITH!
DeleteMaybe the “unreal” ghostbusters could meet Pac-Man; the ghost villains turn to eyes like ghost monsters and prime evil resembles mezmaron.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Deja vu!
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhen there's something weird... in Metropolis... who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!

ReplyDeleteI mean, STF's favorite All-American couple hasn't appeared together, here, in 501 issues!
DeleteI'd buy this comic! This cover promises a good story
ReplyDeleteOr the ghost of a chance for one. ;-)
DeleteThis would have been huge.
ReplyDeleteThe Phantom Zone image there reminds me of the original cover for Queen's Greatest Hits album.
