Doctor Fate Vs. Dormammu

This cover required a bit of background extension and repair before I could add in Dr. Fate and the JLA Satellite.  Here's a look at the behind the scenes progress:

  1. At the risk of sounding like a foot-kisser, Ross, I have to admit that this is your most astounding remix, yet. That bottom left-hand shot, from the original artwork, would have been just as believable for another adventure of the Strange brothers (Adam and Stephen)! But, your skill set once again delivers us something totally--and delightfully--unexpected. Thanks for granting us this visual privilege.

  2. This is indeed quite a good cover, Ross, but seeing the satellite replacement here sprung an idea in my mind:

I visualize the Doctor (11th in my mind, though you generally use the 4th) regarding the reader, saying, "You might want to know... I brought some friends." Behind him we see "a whole bunch of famous co-stars" -- the (original) Enterprise, Galactica, Millennium Falcon, Milano, and other iconic starships (Macross and Red Dwarf are possibilities), plus maybe Space Cabbie just for good measure.

  5. @Bob Greenwade: I thought Milano was the brand name of a chocolate-covered cookie.

    1. The Milano is also one of the ships used by the Guardians of the Galaxy (at least, in the MCU).

  6. I preferred the starship "Captain America" (as flown by the Silver Age comic book GOTG in the 31st century).
