These three characters have all had entertaining animated appearances, now it's time to see them in live action. Man-Bat is long overdue to show up in a Batman movie and Detective Chimp is certainly on the short list if a Justice League Dark movie ever gets past the talking stages. I'm surprised that the Savage Land has not been introduced into the MCU - but once it does, that would be a great place for DD to make his debut.
I agree with you, Ross. And I still think, with the proper writers, a trilogy built around the Savage Land could not only introduce Ka-Zar and Kraven the Hunter. But, also reintroduce the Fantastic Four!---Cary
ReplyDeleteNot to mention Greer Grant, Patsy Baxter, Shana the She-Devil, Gog of the Tsiln and maybe even Nekra and the Mandrill.
Deletei 'd be a monkey's uncle with a drive like this. Devil D & Det C. in the House of Mystery...i could see it now. Man-Bat acting as the advance scout... can't wait till they meet their parallel own versions.
ReplyDeleteJoker & Kraven go after Det C. & Devil D...might be interesting.
ReplyDeleteHow about an all-female group called Wild Girls composed of Cassie "Batgirl" Cain, Nancy "Lynx" Rushman, Laura "X-23" Kinney, Rosabell "Pantha" Mendez (aka X-24) and Yolanda "La Gata" Montez (aka Wildcat 2)?
ReplyDeleteIt somewhat depends on whether Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is part of the Sacred Timeline; I didn't think so at first, but I've seen some indications that it might be.
ReplyDeleteIn general, though, I think the Savage Land was considered part of the X-Men property, so it may be a while before we see our first trip there. At that, I don't really think it'll be in an X-Men movie (or series), but probably in something like a future Black Panther or Doctor Strange film.
Turning to Detective Chimp... I know I've discussed this before, but when was he in animation? I don't remember it.
Re: Anon@11:26's suggestion, I think it'd be cool to see just X-23 and Wildcat II share a cover.
Moon Knight and Doctor Midnight (Beth Chapel) would also be a very welcome sight.
Bob, He appeared on Batman: the Brave and the Bold
ReplyDeleteJust the thought of BoBo the Detective Chimp , Sword of Night in hand Attacking Devil Dinosaur ( with Moon boy or Moon girl ) is a thrill,
ReplyDeletethose JL. dark had some fun stories…
Did any of them feature "flashbacks" of Zatanna performing as opening act for Jim Rook's rock band?*
Delete*I once tried to publish a shipper fanfic with just such a plot gimmick. But, I accidentally deleted it, instead! Oh, how I almost pulled out those portions of my hair not already lost to Mother Nature and Father Time

ReplyDeleteDetective Chimp and Man-Bar might be one of those unusual pairs which are repeated in the blog like Elongated Man and Moon Knight.
