The title says it all - this is a tale that I think would make for a visual feast. I can imagine lots of crowded battle scenes and action against a backdrop of scenic vistas and ancient villages. Reading a comic like that would not be a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon
Absolutely awesome, Ross! Literally seamless blending of the original artworks. Has Usagi ever crossed swords with Groo the Barbarian?
ReplyDeleteSugar and Spike and Peanuts might make for a fun cover? Sugar and Spike haven't really gotten much coverage here, but they deserve more. Plus, I just like them and peanuts. So it's a win-win suggestion for me.
ReplyDeleteActually, a fun fact about Sugar and Spike (which might also double as an accidental oversharing personal anecdote about myself): I was born in 2005, and I first saw them in a batman:the brave and the bold comic at my public library. Later I learned more about them. And although I haven't read their comics much, I like the premise.
ReplyDeleteCalvin and Hobbes meet Stanley and His Monster.
ReplyDelete"Nuff said." :-)
Carycomic, since Usagi's creator Stan Sakai is the letterer of the Groo the Wanderer comic book, it's safe to say they have crossed paths as well as the occasional swords. Just not in STF.
ReplyDeleteDomo arigato, Futabakun-san! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow about Usagi Yojimbo and Sailor Moon (Usagi Tsukino)
ReplyDeleteAwesome work as always; I was especially motivated to post because it's like you're in my head lately, man. Terminator...Usagi Yojimbo...there's some kind of internet wavelength connection thing going on. I'd go on but I think I'm already starting to sound a bit crazy/scary.
ReplyDelete@Futabakun: Maybe Groo the Wanderer and Monkey D. Luffy of One Piece.
ReplyDeleteOr Groosagi Yojimbo vs. Iron Beetle?
ReplyDeleteUSAGI & TMNT seem like a possible contender. On a side bar, there are so many usages of 'STORM', I'm surprised there hasn't been a 'Storm Window' used!, especially on a rainy day!!
ReplyDeleteDoes Ross even do Windows? ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell, it's either that ...or Apples!!
ReplyDeleteSugar & Spike meet Richie Rich & Gloria (where have they been hiding on this blog with thousands of covers/images to use).
ReplyDeleteSugar & Spike take over for Cloak & Dagger for a sick leave/vacation day.
Sugar & Spike meet the Rugrats.
Sugar & Spike are related to Granny (from Slyvester & Tweety).
Richie Rich works with Power Pack
ReplyDeleteSo does Black Canary and Black Cat meeting Laurel & Hardy.
ReplyDeleteRichie R. creates inventions that Power Pack back. Richie works with Stark Ind.
ReplyDeleteThe Fihgting Female group act as Race Bannon protectors for them for image value. That could be a 2 parter easily.
Congrats to Carycomic and H. H. Hoorsefeathers for the groundwork.
Does Usagi Yojimbo work with the Pink Panther?
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, ignore the preceding request. I'd rather see Usagi Yojimbo work with the Flaming Carrot.
