Another fine cover. Nice job. And as for future covers, any chance of Vixen meeting Werewolf by night or a Space Ghost/Firelord crossover? Keep up the good work…
I've always felt the Martian Manhunter would have done well at Marvel. His nuanced origin and tragic backstory fits the silver age Marvel method of story telling.
Can J.J. turn immaterial like the Vision? Changing shape and mind reading help distinguish him from Kal-El. Speaking of Kirby, he drew a character in the 1940s, called the Wrecker. He was a regular criminal that destroyed property, but on the splash page in this early Adventure Comics, interior story, (1942??) was a figure that would be identified immediately as The Hulk. Green skin and purple pants and all. In March is to be a new Ghostbusters movie, Frozen Empire. If we can get a new Back to the Future (again) also, maybe some more great times??
@ Crazy Ivan. Interesting you say that because at one time DC and Marvel plane to exchange the Martian Manhunter with She-Hulk. I want to say it would have been the result of the second Marvel/DC mini-series back in the 90s. The articles I read I don't remember them mentioning why it fell apart. but the plan never came about.

ReplyDeleteWell done. Poor Hank went from taking a Whizzer to the chin to taking a knee to the whizzer.
ReplyDelete@Crazy Ivan: I've always felt that JJ's earliest look was patterned after that of Aarkus (the Golden Age Vision).
ReplyDelete@Jack Acid: just goes to show...
Replacing what was and blending in what is
Ain't exactly done in a whiz.
With apologies to Dr. Seuss...and profoundest compliments to Ross for all his hard work. :-)
What everybody else said. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove how Beast became the Manhunter's cloak.
ReplyDeleteBetter than a shroud. ;-)

@Det. Tobor: I wonder if that's going to involve Asgardian Ragnarok or the Japanese myth of Yuki-onna?
ReplyDelete@Detective Tobor: Yes, J'Onn can turn immaterial, as can any DCU Martian.
ReplyDeleteWith the possible exception of Chris KL-99's mentor, Dr. Halk.

ReplyDelete@Scott: I blame it on Onslaught.
ReplyDeleteMichael Jackson blamed it on the boogie! ;-)
