I'm not sure why the DC movies keep trying to give us new badass, no-nonsense Supergirl variants when there's already a perfectly good one to use - Power Girl. She gets no love outside of the comics for some reason. Sure, we've seen Rogue on the big screen before, but she wasn't exactly the sassy Southern fireball we know from the comics - let's hope her next onscreen iteration gets her personality correct.

DeleteYour analysis of Power girl goes for the small screen, too. I was hoping the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths, or its aftermath, would bring her to us, but no luck. Her aspect as a woman who is the last survivor of her universe makes her unique among Supergirl variants, in a way that, if written well, I'd find interesting and compelling.
ReplyDeleteAs for Rogue, I suspect we'll be seeing her introduced into the MCU about the time that Brie Larson decides she's ready to leave the role of Carol Danvers.
If "The Marvels" tanks at the box office, that might occur sooner than any of us expects.
