It's nice to be able to do an all Walt Simonson cover. His instantly recognizable signature style conveys epic imagery and powerful action in a way that rivals Jack Kirby, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to meet him briefly at a convention about 15 years back, and I remember that he was very enthusiastic and kind to me his other fans.
This is not going to end quickly or well for anyone....but as long as Odin's magic means Thor must be worthwhile of his powers there may yet be a surprise Mr D.isn't expecting.
ReplyDeleteWay cool cover. Not a group i would expect to see together on their own.
Y'know Ross the next crossover could be between John Constantine and Monster Allergy.
ReplyDeleteJust two questions: is this the same Thor kneel that you used with Star Sapphire @ STF #834?? And is Darkseid building his own version of the Suicide Squad in an effort to keep Cthulhu away from Apokolips?
ReplyDeleteyes. no.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy that comic!
ReplyDeleteWalter and Louise are the nicest folks around.
Just wait until Zod gets wind of this....
ReplyDeleteNice cover, Ross.
This looks like the beginning of a big multi-part storyline!
ReplyDeleteSide note: Have there yet been any all-Kevin Maguire covers?
ReplyDelete@Ben W: and, if he strategizes correctly, he could stretch it all the way to STF #4100 on or about July 5!
ReplyDeletei get a real cosmic odyssey frel from this one. nice work!
