Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will finally hit theaters in just over a month, and from what I've seen, it looks to be just as impressive as the first installment - maybe even more. I am glad that it seems like they are once again not forgetting the heart of the story while presenting a variety of amazing animation styles to depict it. I can't wait to check it out.
Ross, you have once demonstrated sheer genius at background research and imaginative extrapolation. I, myself, totally forgot that Eric Needham's wife's maiden name was "Morrell." Which, in your universe, could have been slightly revised as "Morales" through some kind of family dispute.* Probably drug addiction (given the Black Spider's m.o.).
ReplyDeleteSo, Miles Morales could be Eric Needham's biological uncle. While Hobie Brown is lovingly regarded as an honorary one (being more likely a godfather). As for being the Black Spider being the Prowler's partner? Hobie probably first knew him as...Eric Cross. Formerly also known as The Nightcreeper!
*Similar to "Barton" and "Bertinelli."
The Prowler referred to here is Miles' actual uncle in the Ultimate continuity, not Hobie.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to be out of town that weekend (for Mid-Valley Comic Arts Expo in Salem), but I'm still planning to try to see this film while away. I'm betting it'll be a great experience.
next we need the Villianous Spider created by Ted Cowan and written by some unknown called Jerry Seigal from the Lion comic (U.K. ) had some stunning artwork…
