This is a crossover that I think would actually make for a great mini-series. I usually prefer to see Sgt. Rock in situations more grounded in reality, but I'd love to see how he responds to this type of extraterrestrial threat. He would be taken aback, that's for sure, but Rock never gives up and never stops fighting. If there's one other soldier besides Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch that could have a chance against a Predator, it's got to be Frank Rock.
Didn't DC just do Rock vs dc Vampires? Ross, That would prove you're in the right ballpark. Similar to Kirk vs the Gorn?
ReplyDeleteThey are currently doing Sgt. Rock vs nazi zombies.
DeleteWell, if nothing else, this would certainly make for a great comic mini-series...with STF #3903 as tie-in!
ReplyDeletePicture it; Per Degaton, once again working for the Axis Powers, steals an xenomorph egg from the 24th century to aid the Nazis in their stalled Russian offensive. Worf (foster-parented by Russians) is sent back in time, by the Traveler, to prevent this...alongside that Predator. But, something happens to separate the two unlikely allies, with the Predator winding up somewhere in France. And with Worf as Queen Beeyotch bait.
In any event, Ross, I can hardly wait to see what you have in store for us, tomorrow. :-)
I actually had an uncle named Frank Rock, never knew that was the Sgt's first name.
ReplyDeleteYou could also do Nick Fury and his Howlin' Commandoes vs. the Predator, too.
ReplyDeleteBut I really wish I could see a Predator going for a hunt in Belle Reve during a prison riot. And have the Suicide Squad trying to put down the riot and getting caught in the crosshairs of both sides. That would make a great mini-series.

Maybe some time in the future Sgt. Rock can make a guest appearance with the Quarrymen.
ReplyDeleteAs in, the 3rd season arch-enemies of Disney's Gargoyles? Or the proto-Beatles?
ReplyDeleteSgt Rock would inevitably use a satchel charge to bring down a bunker on the Predator's head. (It was many years later that I realized the recurring situation with the satchel charge and the bunker was from "Hell Is for Heroes" with Steve McQueen.)
ReplyDelete@Alec: Now I suddenly have a mental image of one of the Predators firing its shoulder laser at Steve McQueen aboard his motorcycle (from "The Great Escape").

ReplyDeleteAwesome Ross! Great blending of poses and art styles! Hope everyone here is riding the storm out okay.
ReplyDeleteOk, just an outlandish thought to add to the Quarrymen idea. Have the Quarrymen confront a zombie Matter-Eater Lad.
ReplyDeleteI did say it was outlandish.

@OrdinaryGuy: Is there an image anywhere of a zombie Matter-Eater Lad?
ReplyDeleteA Marvel Zombie version of Glom of the Shiar Imperial Guard is the closest one I ever heard of.
ReplyDelete@Anon159: he meant the proto-Beatles, of course!*
ReplyDelete*Sergeant "Rock" (get it?).
@Carycomic: more puns than a barrel of Monkees. ;-D
