As we reach the mid-point of this Five-Part Epic, We see that The Enchantress is not done with her heartbreaking ways, and that makes for an unlucky thirteenth appearance of The Power Couple on this blog. We finally have a hint of a motive, however - what's this about her true love? Make sure to come back tomorrow for the next chapter in this saga...
i never knew that the Enchantress had a life size unbreakable 3 sided mirror(magic??).
ReplyDeleteIt's denied to her? What happened to it?
??Zantanna have any marvel boyfriends?
It was probably stolen by Joe "the original Mirror Master" Scudder...for the Queen of Fables.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though; the first three-fifths of this epic have gone as most of us have feared. But, then again, Herc/Vixen, Cap/Diana, and the Power Couple are the only husband-and-wife teams you've canonically established here, Ross. The couples that she's planning to ruin, next, remain a mystery. Hence, some of the facetious predictions/suggestions half-seriously made, yesterday.
@Ross: I agree with Cary. That's why I'd like to take the liberty of guessing that Couple Number Four will be...Spider-man and Zatanna! But, with a slight twist. Amora has thrown those two together in order to break up Spidey's marriage to MJ!!
ReplyDeleteTo be followed by her breaking up of Batman and Catwoman by having the Dark Knight fall for...Natasha "The Black Widow" Romanova!!!
ReplyDeleteHeh heh: Maybe for her grand finale, the Enchantress will bring together a couple who can't stand each other. And yet, they will find that they actually have some chemistry. Hopefully things will be patched up for the rest by Valentine's Day. Even with his track record, I can still see Herc trying to talk his way out of his current... predicament with Vixen. But I'm still hoping that someone like Eros, or maybe Booster Gold will swoop in and sweep the Enchantress off her feet. It could even be Glorious Godfrey. Or... Lobo.
ReplyDeleteIf her 'true love' is who I'm thinking, when he finds out what the bitch is doing he's not going to be too happy. And Enchantress will need to find a new way to sit down, because Mjolnir is going to be rammed so far up her ass she won't be able to sit properly for a month at least. LOL
ReplyDeleteThis being (I believe) Marvel's Enchantress, we can only speculate on which DC character is her "true love." That'll be tomorrow's surprise, to be sure; my guess would be John Constantine, though it could be anyone from Felix Faust to Doctor Fate... or even Ambush Bug.
ReplyDeleteHow would y'all feel about coupling Mystique with the second Question (Renee Montoya)?
Hmm, her 'true love'? Can't wait to see who it is. Nice work so far, Ross. Keep us guessing!
ReplyDelete@cavillier: Amora's so kinky she's liable to enjoy that! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne possible pairing hasn't been recognized is her and Ego or Eternity. Who else could give her what she couldn't give herself.
ReplyDeleteI just remembered... didn't Ross have a couple of covers on here once depicting Silver Surfer and Starfire as a couple? I forgot all about those two until just now!
ReplyDelete@Horace Feathers: I seem to remember a Defenders story arc in the late Seventies/early Eighties that had Amora trying to manifest the abstract personification of Love as an actual flesh-and-blood being! But, something went wrong and Love Incarnate wound up becoming two with the universe (alongside the lonely, much-abused spirit of Barbara Norris; Brunhilde the Valkyrie's original Earthling host body).
ReplyDelete@Cary: that was "Defenders" v.1/#107-108.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere, Mephisto is giggling like a schoolgirl.
ReplyDeleteMaybe in the future, Power Man and Power Girl question the paternity of Power Boy (LSH) and Power Boy (Teen Titans)?
