I was worried at first that Wolverine would be treated like a joke for his upcoming return in Deadpool 3, but maybe my concerns were unfounded. The film has been described as a 48 Hours type of adventure between the two mutants, which sounds to me like a perfect approach. I can see Hugh Jackman giving off a gruff Nick Nolte vibe while putting up with Ryan Reynold's broader comedy.
Wolverine and Man-Bat first met in STF #3819...
Are those supposed to be the WWI German zombies from one of Baby Doll's fantasies in the 2011 drama SUCKER PUNCH? If so, I never knew there had been a comic book adaptation of it.
ReplyDelete@Anon1059: maybe they've been brought to a parallel-past where they eventually encounter the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...and Gabe Van Helsing.
ReplyDeleteThey could be some low rent demons up from Hell.
ReplyDeleteAt least Kirk doesn't have to say "let me see if i can help cure you", to Logan. But Logan looks a bit more like a vampire.
@Tobor, Cary, and my namesake: split the difference. The German zombies are from STF #3725. Unintentionally transformed from ghosts into revenants as an unforeseen side-effect of Shaman's recruiting Deadman (see STF #2840) for some magical repair job in the 31st century (see STF #3745). Only for Deadman to get ectoplasmically splintered by the Scarlet Witch (see STF #3863); necessitating the former's temporary fusion with Logan during the latter's Man-Battle in STF #3819!
ReplyDeleteAs another side-effect, we might finally get to see Logan and Hellboy in action, side-by-side.
I don't know about anybody else. But, I'd be willing to shell out sixty cents for just such a pairing. If not in a real-world publication, then most certainly here!
ReplyDeleteCarycomic & uhhh anony5:05 vs 5:08, did you ever work for Reader's Digest? Anyone who could reconstruct that journey without a roadmap had to have some serious training.
ReplyDelete@Tobor: all I did was peruse some of Ross' invaluable search parameters at the bottom of the article. Potentially, those things can take you all the way back to TB&TB: The Lost Issue #1!
ReplyDelete@Anon744: Maybe so. But, Tobor and I might've been able to backtrack a lot more easily if you could have highlighted those past-appearance links in blue.
ReplyDelete@Carycomic; afraid of a little harder-than-usual work, are we? ;-D
ReplyDelete@Anon959: :P
