This is the kind of oddball team up that I really liked to see as a kid. These are two heroes that I would have never put together, but upon seeing them in an action scene, I'd simply have to find out just what was going on.
Time for another behind the scenes peek. Vigilante's original partner in this scene had to be removed and replaced - not to mention his lasso... here's a look at the process:
Yikes! None of their powers are going to be of much help against ghosts! They might need to call in another team. Deadman and Brother Voodoo? Doctor Occult and Shaman?

It's from Spanish: juzgado, "court of justice".

His spirit remained trapped in the castle where the murder took place until 1940. Because ghosts are forms of energy, Nova might be able to affect them...even if only one at a time.

ReplyDelete@Emsley Wyatt: I concur. In which case, these might not be supernatural ghosts. But, rather, Earthling convicts experimentally exposed to a stolen Phantom Zone Projector! One that he reverse-engineered and partially modified so that these guys are transparent and intangible, but otherwise still present on this plane. But, how would the PHP have been stolen in the first place? And by whom (assuming Luthor has been in prison all this time)?
ReplyDeleteMy money would be on someone who Nova once helped the first incarnation of SHIELD in his original 1980's mag. Someone who might also have been a one-time rival of Daniel "Short Stuff" Leong's maternal grandfather Lin Chou (WWII-era leader of the White Lotus Tong). The Yellow Claw!
@Ross: sorry! That should have read "...helped SHIELD defeat in his original 1980's mag." Evidently, YC is just as allergic to that word as DT.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Ross; I'd want to see what brought these two together, along with how they worked together to handle the situation. That's what I love about mismatched team-ups like Ambush Bug and the Thing (which we saw back in the MTIO days, but would be quite welcome now since I don't think we've seen either character in a while).

ReplyDeleteAh, this looks like one of those deals: The heroes' weapons will simply pass through these phantoms, but the knives, clubs and guns of the angry ghosts are still dangerous to the living good guys. Quite a pickle!
