Zatanna and Brother Voodoo

I'd heard of  a couple of live action features starring Zatanna in the past few years - a solo film and a Justice League Dark movie - but with all of the restructuring going on at Warner Bros/Discovery, I don't believe either is moving forward at the moment.  The solo film was to be straight to streaming, which they are trying to get away from and the JLD movie was part of a production deal with JJ Abrams that hasn't

seemed to have really worked out.  I'm guessing we see Brother Voodoo on the big screen first.

  1. Consider how cheap the new budget is going down to because of all the customers who have dropped out because of money, hand puppets shows may be next.

  2. Hmmmmm! Someone should tell Ordinaryguy2 that it looks like not all the predatory Yautja returned to their home universe from the Land of the Lost.*

    *Inside joke. ;-D

  3. Who'd be a good pick to play Zatanna?

  4. Circa 1980, I would've said Maren Jensen from BSG:TOS. In 1996, I would've said Demi Moore (then-starring in "Striptease"). Prior to "Fast and Furious III," Jordana Brewster. Post-SMALLVILLE, Serinda Swan.

For a live-action film, nowadays, though? Maybe Selena Gomez or Camilla Cabelo.

  5. Unrelated: I was out walking today, and I recalled the period when Lightning Lad (LSH) lost an arm and had a metal replacement. What if he were to be teamed with Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) and the Winter Soldier? (Is there anyone else who would fit in this group?)

The inventtor Emil Hamilton, sometimes an ally to Superman but sometimes an enemy instead, lost an arm back in the 1990s and used a mechanical replacement after that.
    Also, Luke Skywalker?

  9. @Anon@9:01 & Cary: That pun was actually used in the comics, with Lightning Lad.

  12. Oooh. Zatanna is from the Batman Zatanna teamup a number of years ago. I really liked their childhood friendship being addressed. Once again, a great cover, Ross!
