Superman and Cyclops

When The X-Men finally come to the MCU, one of the main things I want to see is a far better treatment of Cyclops.  The previous actors in the role did a fine job, it's just that they were not given much to work with.  Fans want to see Scott Summers as the seasoned field leader we know from the comics rather than a straight man relegated to the background until he is unceremoniously killed off.

  1. Cyclops? Trying to bring down Dragon Man all by his lonesome?? In Metropolis?! I'll bet Luthor abducted the other X-men as leverage for some master plan involving Superman lured into range of krytoinite-fueled "dragon breath."

  2. I miss the real Superman and the original X-Men.

  3. Robert Frost once said "Nothing gold can stay."

I suppose that had to be doubly true for the Silver Age of Comics. :-(

  4. Supes' exclamation is fortuitous; I'm sure that, by the end, he'll be repeating it with a comma in the middle.

As for the MCU Cyclops, in the comics he wasn't always a seasoned leader. He started out as a gifted leader, and became seasoned with time. I'm hoping the X-Men start out young, so we can watch their development the way the second timeline was trying to do.

  5. Not to mention, catch a glimpse of Jean Grey during her green mini-skirt years! ;-)

  6. Sorry to be the one to break this to you, Ross, but the way the MCU is right now, probably the only way Cyclops would be portrayed like you want is if he were race-swapped. For similar reasons, (@Anon1229) a mini-skirt is most likely out of the question.

BTW @Anon820: What th'heck is "krytoinite"??

  7. It's how I spell I misspell "kryptonite" every time I have to verify to a certain bunch of A***OL*s that I'm really me and not some Skrull impostor.

    GRRRRRRRRRR!

  8. See? I'm still so frustrated that I leave out the words "...or rather" between "spell" and "misspell"!

  9. Dear Ross: considering you used the title first, for STF #3560, wouldn't that make "Paws of Fury" your intellectual property? So, shouldn't you be asking Paramount and Nickelodeon for some kind of royalties?

  10. Agreed! Cyclops is the Captain America of the X-Men (and has always been my favorite). He deserves to be front and center. And I'd prefer NO Magneto (excpet in a historical sense), and NO Phoenix Saga.

  11. Cary, I've been patiently waiting for royalty checks, but none have arrived so far.

  12. But, given the mystical origin of Juggernaut in the comics, using the next Dr. Strange sequel to intro both the X-men and Cain Marko would make a lot of sense. :-)

  13. P.S.---the above statement was meant to be a reply to Ken's declaration.

  14. One final thought for this time slot. How about Cyclops teaming up with Megaton Man, the Golden Age Comet (from MLJ) and Gold Key's Dr. Solar, Man of the Atom? It could be called...

    "Dawn Of The Super-Visors!"

  15. One more suggestion. The X-Men and the Metal Men.
