This cover comes from a suggestion in a recent comments section. It is definitely a natural combination and I am surprised that I am only getting to it now. I'm looking forward to seeing Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness tomorrow. It'll be fun seeing Sam Raimi run free in the MCU.
I was glad to use a Michael Kaluta image of Madame Xanadu here. I was lucky enough to pick up a sketch by him several years back:
Shamus ought to be really hungry by lunch time. One builds up quite an appetite jumping for joy! :-)
ReplyDeleteHalloween is less than 6 months away!
ReplyDeleteHopefully this will be the start of an ongoing partnership -- though I'd be more interested in Dr. Strange teaming up again with Dr. Mid-Nite, for more medical superheroics. And of course it's been a good while since we've seen Stephen with his brother, Adam.
ReplyDeleteAs to the movie, even with the various leaks about who had cameos, there were still plenty of surprises, including how those cameos were used -- most of them were pretty substantial. I'll have some comments and requests about a couple of them after I know you've seen the film and won't consider them spoilers.
Not only do the characters fit together, those two drawings fit exceptionally well together, including the coloring. Looks like it could be a real cover.
ReplyDeleteThat's because it *is* a real cover! ...somewhere in the Multiverse.
ReplyDeleteThey won't be spoilers with me, Bob. So you can rest assured I won't get Carter to sue you. ;-D
ReplyDeletePretty cool layout! It's refreshing to see sorcerers just enjoying the mystic realms once in a while, rather than being cornered by some hoary, vicious underworld dweller. And maybe they are welcoming us in?
