Chaselon Vs. The Hulk

The Green Lantern movie was such a disappointment that Warner Bros. seems afraid to ever use Hal Jordan again.  The HBO Max GL Corps show seems to be moving at a glacial pace, announced years ago with only a few casting announcements since.  Warner Bros. is on the brink of being under new management when Discovery fully takes over.  I say, scrap everything and put all of your resources into a Chaselon feature film!  The sentient crystal with robotic limbs and a mohawk is the clear choice to make the DCEU's premier Green Lantern. I mean that's what I would do if I was in charge... which may explain why I'm not.

  1. I don't think it's a "sentient robot" (that would be Stel) but rather a crystalline lifeform. But otherwise, I tend to agree with you that Chaselon and the other non humanoid GLs would make a great show.

  2. I agree with Bigby 65. Especially on the first part! He's either a monocrystalline silicon-based life form (which make him perfect as a GL, in the photovoltaic sense). Or the ultimate carbon-based life form; a veritable living diamond!

Either way, the Hulk has his work cut out for him.

  3. I just typed too fast, I meant to write crystal.

  4. Meanwhile, the Arrowverse shows keep teasing us about John Diggle becoming Green Lantern, even sending Iris to Coast City (home of Ferris Air) for a few episodes. This week the person she met there was Phantom Girl, but somehow I think we'll be seeing something a little more solid* in the near future, whether it's David Ramsey, Ryan Reynolds, or someone else.

    *Pun not intended, but appreciated.

  5. Yeah, I get where you're coming from. For instance, take the ongoing debate over the next James Bond. Who cares? Bond is finally dead! Let him rest in peace and let's give someone a little younger a shot at the limelight; James Bond Junior! Hey, I know that it's never gonna happen but now I just want to see what you could come up with! I love all of your quirky multiversal comic crossovers!

  6. @Sasha: maybe Ross could do an animated version of the Bondsmen featuring JB,Jr.

  7. I think Hulk would have been given a red ring for all the anger and hate he carries around. I could also see him offered a yellow ring for the fear he inspires in others. This just popped into my head at seeing your cover even though Chaselon isn't offering a ring.
I did have a thought the other day and did a quick search. There is one obvious crossover that you never touched on, Ross. And that is Dr. Doom and the Legion of Doom. Oh, the possibilities.

  8. @Anon@12:54: I suppose JBJ could organize a Junior Bondsmen, with Robin, Short Round, and... well, I'm not sure who to put in for Nick Fury and Doc Savage, but you get the idea.

  9. Then, regarding G. L., not exactly. Unlike the days of Superman-Chris, there are now so many channels on 24 hrs a day that the need constant product. Even the Lantern movie. Everything is always being repeated. Want to do a new aspect on the concept? How easy is that?
Lantern replacement? Who to play what? Current DC time, Gal as Wonder Woman is in the lead with 4 movies; Bat V \S/, W.W., J.L.(either),& W.W. 84. So, do a stand alone or multi movie story? People even forget the animated Lantern series Hal had.
Not easy. Do a human like Kyle or an alien perspective? good luck.

  10. @Bob Greenwade: Doc Savage's grandson (from the 1970's DC series) could be part of the Junior Bondsmen. And Marlene "Miss Fury" Hale (granddaughter of the Golden Age Black Fury from Malibu Comics) could stand in for Nick.
