If you are a huge Calvin & Hobbes fan like me, I cannot recommend the book Exploring Calvin and Hobbes highly enough. It starts out with an incredible 35-page interview with the reclusive Bill Watterson and goes on to an in-depth exploration of this strip, detailing Watterson's development, tools, themes, influences and inspirations. It's a fantastic read.
great cover, as always Ross....
ReplyDeletein your intro writings it should read "starts" not "stars".....
but otherwise flawless....
WHOA!
ReplyDeleteThis is even better than my occasional suggestion of "Darkseid vs. Pureheart of Riverdale!" It gives me even greater hope of someday seeing the Punisher take on Stupendous Man and/or Officer Hobbes of Cat Precinct.
:-)
And this looks like just the sort of adventure that Calvin would come up with for Spaceman Spiff. Nice!
ReplyDeleteAnd in the meantime, Hobbs is having fun while he's harassing Granny Goodness!
ReplyDelete@Ken: Yeah! Probably by running her war hounds ragged. ;-D
ReplyDeleteHa! I think many of us have grown up having dreams like this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the Bill Watterson book. I'm just about to order it now.
ReplyDelete@Bhagpuss: I'll wait for the movie.
