Nightcrawler, Wolverine and the Green Lantern Corps

Presenting the conclusion of our three-part epic!  Let's hope the combined forces of all of these heroes is enough to turn back an attack from The Empire.  Marvel Studios has mastered the cinematic universe and now they are about to dive headfirst into the multiverse... how long until they take the next step and have Marvel heroes cross over into other Disney-Owned properties like Star Wars?

  1. Marvel-Disney, themselves, claim "Never!" But, personally? I think that will be proven a lie if ever any characters from STAR WARS or mainstream Marvel superheroes wind up in the next generation of "Kingdom Hearts."

In any case; nice action-packed conclusion! I guess this means...4001 down. 999 to go!

  2. Well there was already a Star Wars/Disney cross over in Wreck It Ralph so...

  3. Against any one of those heroes, that walker wouldn't stand a chance. Against all five... say good night, Gracie.

And this is definitely one of your better efforts, in terms of blending images. If I didn't already know that these are pasted from different sources, I'd have a hard time telling.

The Disney brass some time ago that there will never be any crossovers among their properties, which of course jinxed the whole idea (meaning that there eventually will be). Marvel/Star Wars crossovers can take on the feel of DC/Hanna Barbera, and Marvel/Classic Disney crossovers can be like DC/Loony Tunes.

Meanwhile, I think the only way we're likely to see a DC/Marvel crossover on film is if it's done by the Lego Movie people.

(BTW, it occurs to me that if Emperor Palpatine were to have a conflict with someone like Bugs Bunny or the Warners... well, it'd almost be enough to make me feel sorry for him.)

  4. Thinking about Marvel and Star Wars, how about an appearance here sometime from the character named Jaxxon who made his debut in Marvel's own 'Star Wars' comic?

  5. Jaxxon would go well with Howard or Rocket Raccoon, or maybe Detective Chimp, imo

  6. Bob, who says that's the only Walker? There's a whole fleet just off panel.

BTW tomorrow's cover is inspired partially by a request of yours...

  7. @Simreeve: I had to go look that guy up, and I'm glad I did. We can add him to the prospective team that includes Captain Carrot, Usagi Yojimbo, Harecules Hare, Thunderbunny, and Hoppy the Marvel Bunny.

  8. @Ross: Well, I'll grant that. I think it'd take at least 20 to give this group even a little challenge.

And now I'm going to be waiting eagerly for tomorrow's cover.

  9. @Bob Greenwade: Don’t forget Bucky O’Hare!

  10. I found this cover appropriate for two reasons. First, there are lot of DC super-villains whose aliases would make them worthy of being Sith Lords. By that I mean, can't you just picture like Despero, Sinestro, and Giganta having the title "Darth" in front of their names?

Secondly, both the Jedi and the Green Lantern Corps are often thought to have been inspired by the Lensmen (created by sci-fi novelist E.E. "Doc" Smith).

So to sum it all up; great trilogy, Ross!

  11. @Bobbo: I did forget him! He definitely belongs with this (for lack of a better name) Lagomorph Legion.

  12. That last Anon comment also got me to thinking, and of course there are plenty of villains who could become Sith, especially if some Sith Lord were to dispense with the Rule of Two. After seeing Maul's story arc in Clone Wars and Rebels, I think he'd be a decent candidate for that, and certainly Despero and Sinestro would be possible recruits into his Sith Army, as would Sivana and Mordru. A few others would make for good Sith even if they'd need new titles, such as Hector Hammond or The Batman Who Laughs.

On the Light Side, one of my cosplays is Jedi Master Elvis. I definitely think that the King would sign up if he could, and I'd love to see the idea touched on here. (To Anakin: "You look like a Jedi, walk like a Jedi, talk like a Jedi, but I've grown wise... you're just a Sith Lord in disguise!)

  13. As Master Elvis used to say to his protocol droid: "10-Q! 10-Q, very much."
