Man-Bat, Man-Thing and Yoda

I'm looking forward to the Obi Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.  Will Yoda show up at some point?  I haven't heard anything about that but of all the announced series, that seems to be the most likely place for him to make an appearance.  I won't be holding my breath for a scene like the one above, though - but it would be very cool!

Man-Thing first traveled to Dagobah in STF #303, and he previously met Man-Bat in STF #333...

  2. Man-Bat looks like he's been infected with the Eclipso Virus. Did he run into Moon Knight and the Elongated Man, by any chance?

  3. He ran into MK waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in STF #968.

  4. Ross, I have no words for how delightfully bizarre this cover is. It evokes all sorts of questions as to how this would affect the Star Wars timeline. Would Luke (the blond twin) be called Luke Langstrom? What would be Leia's upbringing? Would Luke end up becoming the statesman, while Leia led the simple life, reversing their roles in the saga? There are so many crazy ways this could play out. You could start answering some of those questions by having the Empire devastate either Citrusville or Gotham City, with C-3PO and R2D2 having just encountered whichever twin you're propelling forward, and Obi-Wan taking up a hermit-like life nearby.

Yoda appearing on Obi-Wan Kenobi doesn't seem too far-fetched to me, provided the series takes Obi-Wan off Tattooine at all (which I think it probably will). However, I think it's not at all unlikely that we'll be seeing him on The Bad Batch. After all, so far on that show we've seen Caleb Dume, Cut Lawquane, Captain Rex, Bib Fortuna, Fennec Shand, Saw Gerrera, Admiral Tarkin, and various others. I'm just waiting for Hondo Ohnaka to make an appearance.

Speaking of Hondo, I think he'd make a delightful foil for Captain James T. Kirk.

  5. Hate to be a downer, but... I look at this and I see a potential for a mini series of covers. One of the kids is stolen, tortured, and altered then becomes a member of the Fatal Five.
Loads of red herrings and false trails while the kid is taken outside the known universe.

  6. @Tobor and Cary: I see Man-Thing, attracted by their fear, rescuing Jonny Quest and Hadji from the Swamp Thing(@ STF #3325) in exchange for Little Leia. That way, she grows up to have phyto-kinetic powers while calling herself "Leia Holland." Meanwhile, Luke Langstrom, inspired by Dr. Leslie Tompkins, becomes a medical doctor. Using the Light Side of the Force to heal the seriously ill and critically injured as inconspicuously as possible. Thereby gaining the necessary skill and experience to get rid of the Eclipso Virus his adoptive father picked up from the Moon Knight (who was just as unknowingly infected by the Elongated Man).

  7. I, too, would love to see the events of A New Hope mirrored in a recurring series of covers using at least some of the ideas given here. You could start with Kirk Langstrom explaining, "Luke, I am not your father!"

  8. " 'Then, who are you really?' demanded Luke."

"I'm a Shi'ido Jedi who came to Earth, disguised as a Bovorian matukai warrior, just before the Clone Wars. A horrendous military conflict that engulfed my home world's galaxy before you were even born!"

" 'And who does that make me?!' Luke demanded, once more (in a much louder voice)."

" 'Our galaxy's only hope,' replied his foster father, softly."

A side note. With Yoda in charge...
Man-Bat, Man-Thing, Man-Wolf, Mandrake the Magician, Manhunter, Mantis, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. either (The Handy Man Specials) or (The Man-ager's Specials).

  10. I think the first three were proposed some time ago, as the Man-Men.

  11. Put Lobo in charge of them, instead. That way, they'd be the Main Men.

    Even with Mantis?

  13. Maybe if she got replaced by her male namesake from Apokolips? Provided the latter was depicted as a Suicide Squad conscript, of course.

  14. How about "The Executives" for Horsefeathers group with Yoda in charge...
Man-Bat, Man-Thing, Man-Wolf, Mandrake the Magician, Manhunter, Mantis, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.?? (That, or Manning the Help Desk. ;-D)

  15. I still say "The Main Men" as led by Lobo.

    Think Executive "Branch" for Swampy.

  17. You mean, Alec Holland would be the "branch manager?"

  18. I think that idea has been " planted" already.
