Wouldn't you know it, I had created this new team and had this cover all ready to go, when I saw the promotional campaign for The Suicide Squad start kicking in. On the posters was the line, "They're Dying to Save The World!" Hey, that's a little close to the tag line that I created for these guys! Has James Gunn been spying on me? Yeah, maybe not. I'm sure he has more important things to do than set up surveillance on my mashup project, so I'll just chalk it up to coincidence.
Or When under the Gunn, Great Minds think alike.
ReplyDelete...Or Dig the same things.
ReplyDeleteWell, "Givin" how forgettable the Suicide Squad movie was, I'm sure you won't be sued for plagiarism.*
ReplyDelete*Sorry! Jack Skellington reminds me of that Ghostface-like character from the Mos Eisley Cantina in STAR WARS: ANH. Apparently, one of a race of calcium-based life forms from the planet Yag'dhul.
AKA: The Death Squad?
ReplyDeleteHad I known you were planning something like this, I would've suggested including Ghoul, a character from Malibu Comics' UltraForce who is basically a zombie. Maybe he can be added later (like, say, next October).
ReplyDeleteGreat cover! I thought it was Halloween for a moment. Simon William Garth (from Marvel's Tales Of The Zombie comic)would be a great addition to this team.
ReplyDeleteAbd their HQ is the House of Mystery with Cain acting as their missions director...
ReplyDeleteTheir liaison could be The Spirit.
ReplyDeleteSpecial surprise appearance by Kid Eternity.
Unofficial mascot is Jason Todd.
Poster boy for the group is Jim Corrigan.
Sponsored by Alec Holland's co.: In the Green.
and why not include Michael Keaton's "Beetlejuice" character here also.....
ReplyDeleteBeetle isn't much of a team player.
ReplyDeleteNo Casper?
ReplyDeleteNot bad for a new 'every 30' addition. They certainly are worth the extra hype you gave about not spreading your Brand too thin.
ReplyDeleteBeetlejuice would be a legit addition. Who's to say that the STFU version isn't willing to lend a hand when he deems it suitable?
ReplyDelete@Batman-13: I think he's preoccupied substituting for Spooky on Earth-41119 ("WHAT IF...Harvey Comics characters founded their own version of the Avengers?").
ReplyDeleteP.S.---check out Proto-Man's article @ "Marvunapp: Groups."
ReplyDeletead Richie Rich = Tony Stark? Casper = Captain America? Wendy = Wanda? Buy gum, they just may pull it off.
ReplyDeletefor She-Hulk above, i would think that Casper would more closely be the stand-in for the Vision, what with the whole intangible-ness thing going on.....
ReplyDeleteCasper is too friendly to be a vision.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Make him the Earth-Harvey version of Jarvis the Butler!
ReplyDeleteumm, excuse me Anonymouse, but wouldn't the Earth-Harvey version of Jarvis be Richie Rich's butler Cadbury?????
ReplyDeleteand if Casper is too friendly to be the Vision than that could fall to the other intangible ghost character, Spooky the Tough Little Ghost......
The ideal Harvey-Avengers line-up (in my opinion):
ReplyDeleteRichie Rich=Iron Man/Golden Avenger
Casper=Vision
Wendy=Scarlet Witch
Stumbo=Giantman
Hot Stuff=Ghost Rider
Cadbury=Jarvis
Little Lotta=She-Hulk
Black Cat=Black Cat
Casper could alternate at being the Vision's counterpart when Spooky is too busy acting as Earth-Harvey's version of Dum-Dum Dugan (derby and all). While Jackie Joker could be the local counterpart to Pietro Maximoff (as "Quickwit Silver").
ReplyDeletesubmitted for your approval....
