Huntress and Mockingbird

Continued from yesterday's cover, we see that Clint Barton's time in The House of Mystery has perhaps had some lasting effects... Regular visitors to this blog will know that Hawkeye and Huntress are siblings on Earth-STF, and I figured that is was high time that Helena shared an adventure with her sister-in-law.  I'd like for Bobbi Morse to show up in the Disney+ Hawkeye series, but I think a version of the character appearing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may rule that out, since apparently Kevin Feige was not a fan of that series.

  1. Really nice job on this cover. Two of my favorite heroines. And they both look great. Any chance of an Avengers vs Youngblood matchup any time soon?

  2. The Image group? That's one I never read, don't know much about them. You never know though.

  3. @Ross: from what little I remember, Youngblood was another Fantastic Four analogue. At least with regard to resembling the four classic elements of alchemy! Badrock representing earth and the beauteous hydrokinetic Riptide representing water.

  4. I'd have to agree with Mr. Feige. The script-reason for Agent Colson still being alive seemed way too simplistic. Even worse than the cop-out ultimately used for Bobby Ewing's "miraculous" resurrection on DALLAS:TOS! That's why I boycotted AOS thereafter.

As far as I'm now permanently concerned, that show has as much connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as CW's superhero series have to the recent "Dawn of Justice League" movies from DCWB.

As for today's cover? I'm guessing Hawkeye's become either a Marvel Zombie or a Black Lantern. Either way, you might have to stretch this out to a three-parter to answer that question.

  5. There are enough AoS fans around (myself among them) that Kevin might relent and allow for the characters' return. I know that many people have been asking for Chloe Bennett's Daisy Johnson (working for S.W.O.R.D. under Fury), to say nothing of FitzSimmons, and I'd love to see Mac and Yo-Yo come around to show a re-established S.H.I.E.L.D. (though mostly because they're two of my favorite characters). So Bobbi Morse could show up on Hawkeye, though it's not super likely unless we hear something about Adrianne Palicki showing up on set, and of course her relationship with Barton would be somewhat different (even if he is temporarily widowed at the time).

I'm trying to remember, though, if there are many other quarterstaff users in comics. Gabrielle (Xena's sidekick) comes to mind, so there's her at the very least. We could even broaden the category so the likes of Master Splinter and Gandalf can be included. Then we could bring all the characters together for a staff meeting. *rimshot* #BadPunNoCookie

(If it was villains who all have staffs of one sort or another, you could call them the Staff Infection!) #AndAnother #BadPunNoCookie

  6. @Cary: Considering you have to die to become either, I doubt it. Maybe a Red Lantern?

  7. @Bob: that'd be like asking Rian Johnson do another "Star Wars" sequel/prequel with unaltering respect for already-established canon!

  8. As you might already know, Mockingbird was also once known as Huntress. There might be a cover idea there....

  9. @Daviticus: given he was quite the hot-head when he first joined "Cap's Kooky Quartet," possibly. But, I doubt it. Doesn't fit with the haunted house angle from Part 1!

Let's split the difference and say he was vampirized by a member of the Blood-Red Moon. Maybe even Andrew Bennett's ex-girlfriend, herself!
