Green Lantern and Ultron

I've read that a deal could not be worked out with Ryan Reynolds to reprise his Green Lantern role in the Justice League Snyder Cut coming out next month.  I'm betting that Zack Snyder still wants to have a new GL cameo though.  Will it still be Hal Jordan, but recast?  Maybe John Stewart will be used instead, or even a fully CGI Lantern like in the Amazon battle scene.  I just want one shot of the complete League together, with a GL and The Martian Manhunter in attendance.

  1. Could not have said it any better for wanting the full original cast. Since they all just met, a shot of them in earlier days is not going to work.

  2. I think Ryan Reynolds made his feelings, about doing a GL sequel, perfectly clear when his MCU counterpart was "euthanized" in DEADPOOL 2.

So, if not someone portraying John Stewart, then I'd (reluctantly) settle for someone portraying Guy Gardner. Like, say, Hallmark movie veteran Kris Polaha? ;-)

  3. I mean, that's how he was listed in the end credits of "WW'84", right?

    As "Handsome Guy!"

  4. Re: today's titular question. Maybe he's creating a new breed of Manhunters that will specialize in dealing with any reappearance by the Black Lanterns.

    Deadman-hunters!

If nothing else, Ross could depict how Rama Kushna's favorite ghost might react to that apparent misappropriation of...Brand-name.

  5. I think there was a similar problem with Ryan doing an end-of-story cameo in the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths. I'm probably not the only one who would've thought it epic to have that glowing green meteorite turn out to be not a box, but Ryan as a dead or dying Hal Jordan.

As to this cover, this may be one of Hal's less-well-considered plans. Next he'll be giving a ring to Jar Jar Binks. (Yes, take that as a suggestion!)

  6. I'd rather see him as a Sith Lord: Jarth-Jarth Binks!

  7. @Anon@10:08: Well, not on this blog, I think. But Darth Lex has a nice ring to it.

Or... hey... how about this pair who started out good, but then were corrupted by evil: Count Dooku and Saruman!

Since Hal spent his younger days flying planes he may feel he can still command machinery easily enough. Then again with the way dc does retcons, they could give a power ring to some of the cast of the Jetsons...They always wanted to have.. a ring around the Rosie.

  9. I was hoping we might get a Valentines Day theme with the JACK OF HEART and CUPID, but maybe next next year. Still, great cover image!

  10. Some of you covers are great because you've seen the team-up that was just SO right, like the CA&WW or the Danvers triplets. Some are great because technically that are so perfectly executed that they really look like they were designed that way by the artists. And some are just clever as Hell. This one is one of the last. I want this story to exist. It is beautifully done, and so clever that I hardly notice the different in art styles. Technically it is really good, if not perfect, but the "Ooo… now that would be cool" factor makes hardly notice the differences.

  11. DC’s Future State has the Central Battery and OA destroyed so good timing.

  12. @Bob Greenwade: Darth Dominus would be more fitting. It was an alias he briefly adopted during one of the last pre-COIE Superman stories.

  13. @Anon@3:06: Brilliant! I love it! Just turn his old power armor black-and-dark-grey, and give him a red lightsaber!

  14. @Jim Burrows: "Danvers triplets?!" As in original Ms. Marvel, Supergirl, and Power Girl?

  15. HAL is iun love with Ultron? Weirdass Valentines day choice.

  16. @Brother KM: Think how Mr. Cockrum might've reacted if he'd barged in to see Ultron and GL holding hands while chorusing "Hello...Dave."
