Bob Greenwade, a Patron of this blog, requested the return of the Spider Signal, and I thought that it would also be a good opportunity for the JLA to make up for snubbing Spider-Man's petition to join the team way back in STF #57. The Spider-Signal was first introduced in STF #2378, and made a return in STF #2417...
Rumor has it that Alfred Molina will be reprising Doctor Octopus alongside Jamie Foxx' Electro in the next Spider-Man Movie. Can Thomas Haden Church as Sandman be far behind?
The strange condition is probably due to his original rejection having been the result of collusion between Doc Ock and Dr. Destiny.
ReplyDeleteP.S.--I just noticed. We're halfway to #3200! Which, if my calculations are correct, should be circa Jan. 16, 2021.
ReplyDeleteWhile I mostly prefer the plain black-and-yellow Spider-Signal, it's still a welcome sight here. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd also seen the Molina rumor. And Thomas Hayden Church returning as Sandman would be quite welcome for me; his performance in that role was quite excellent.
But the big question is...could we get Nicholas Hammond back to reprise his role as Spider-Man?
ReplyDeleteI’m hoping that they’ll bring back Morgan Freeman as Spidey’s Electric Company/Spidey Super Stories pal Easy Reader
ReplyDeleteHey, next time we see the Spider-Signal, maybe the person behind it could be Iron Beetle? (One can hope.)
ReplyDelete@jlbgriggs2: If Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appear in a future film (and current rumors of that surround both the third Tom Holland Spider-Man movie and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) then I do hope Nicholas Hammond gets at least a cameo, whether as an elderly Peter Parker or just a Stan Lee-esque "prominent face in the crowd."
Yea for Kyle and Wally. What can Spider do that Martian Manhunter can't duplicate?
ReplyDeleteNice cover. I think I have seen a fanfiction where Spider-Man gets tossed into the DC Universe and joins the Justice League. I think I may try find and read it now. Thanks.

...And now that we've learned that The Child ("Baby Yoda") is named Grogu, he can get a proper cover here. I think maybe he could be brought to Professor X for examination and potential training.
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: I'd settle for Nicholas Hammond being Spider-Ben.
ReplyDeleteAnd Wonder Woman could be heard loudly saying, "Look! Up in the Sky!!"
ReplyDeleteSpidy, having worked with Batman, should have no problem fitting in with the others.
And teamed up with Superman on a couple of occasions.
ReplyDeleteSpider-Man only thinks he is going to lead. Batman will manipulate him to do what he wants done.
ReplyDelete@Bob Greenwade: "Grogu?" Sounds more like one of Jack Kirby's pre-FF space monsters.
