One blank spot in my comics reading career has been Charlton Comics. I like the characters from Charlton that eventually were purchased by DC and many of my favorite creators (Steve Ditko, Jim Aparo, Dick Giordano and more) did work for the company. So far I have only checked out The Phantom from when he was published by Charlton, and I quite enjoyed those. I'll have to seek out some other collected editions from their library.
Now this is a team as unlikely thought as as possible. But their personalities might mesh very effectively. Love the villian's ray. Maybe a future team up with Dr Light?
ReplyDeleteI liked the original costume of Capt. Atom best. I did not like what DC did with it. They kept the Beetle like they got him from Charlton. Wished they had with Capt. Atom. He was my favorite character from Charlton.
ReplyDeleteA great tribute to Steve Ditko. Thanks, Ross. :-)
ReplyDeleteanother great one artist issue ! thanks , Ross
ReplyDeleteAre any of the original Charlton comics out in TPB? I'm kind of interested in Blue Beetle and the Question.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question, in itself! ;-D
ReplyDeleteSnake Marston's giving Baron Brimstone "bunny ears."
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's hinting that Ross should do another Charlton tribute. Like, say, Thunderbunny vs. Unjust Superman (or even "Shazombie"), perhaps?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: would that be as in "Fawcett Capt. Marvel Zombie?"
ReplyDelete;-)
By George, I think you've got it!
ReplyDelete@Bob G.: No TPB that I know of, but there was a pricey 2-volume hardcover DC Archives set of the Charlton Action Heroes. Vol. 1 was all Captain Atom. Vol. 2 had CA, BB, and the Question.
