Katana and Iron Fist in "Killers of K'un Lun!"

Karen Fukuhara was very impressive as The Female in the Second season of The Boys on Amazon Prime, both in her dialog-free dramatic moments and her incredible fighting scenes.  So much so that it really highlights how under-used she was as Katana in the first Suicide Squad movie.  I look forward to seeing where her character goes in Season Three of The Boys, and I hope that we haven't seen the last of Katana on the big screen.

Katana and Iron Fist first met in STF #1997...

  1. Personally, I think Devon Aoki (from Del Toro's SIN CITY THE MOVIE) would make a better Katana for any Suicide Squad sequel.

As to Danny Rand's trainers going rogue? I like to think your Katana is referring to The Many and The One. The combatants he had to face (in his Late Silver Age origin story) before finally being allowed to exit Kun-Lun to battle Shou Lao the Undying.

How did they get to Earth and why are they targeting Katana's family? My overlapping answers would be: Dr. Psycho! As part of a convoluted plot to steal the Soul Taker.

  2. Almost everybody will be kung-fu fighting
Katana vs Black Hole and The Spot!

  4. Mike W. Barr really dropped the ball as well in fully utilizing Katana in Batman & the Ousiders. So many more stories could have been explored regarding her origin and her sword- the Soultaker! There was an actual world of souls inside that sword!?! How could he not delve into that? Instead, the group ditched the Batman and Gotham, moved to boring L.A. and added unnecessary members like Looker and Windfall. It was frankly the beginning of the end of that series, regardless of the "new" baxter page format.

  5. You know what would make a great name for a character (hero or villain) in a SPOOF martial arts, etc.(?) story? King Fu!

  6. I think that's a great idea! It could be about a martial artist meta-simian; sort of like "Shang Chi meets POTA."

Anyway, it's a better title than "Kung Pow Chicken."
