The Flash Vs. Kang

If there's one DC character that Kang would want to go after, it has to be The Flash.  He's been well known for using his cosmic treadmill to travel backward and forward through history, altering events along the way with mixed results.  That's Kang's whole method of operation, and I can imagine he would want to get rid of the competition!

  1. A timely pairing. I only wish I could start turning the pages on it.
    Maybe worth a sequel, Ross.
BTW, when/why did Flash put the yellow lightning overlay on his red costume? I still prefer the original, which I think has aged amazingly well.

  2. Brilliant! In fact, I can think of only one cover-sim that might surpass it. A sequel, featuring two of the female Exiles using that same Cosmic Treadmill. Albeit, aerobically dressed like Jane Fonda impersonators!

  3. I agree with Dave: this would be a really exciting adventure to read. I could see it as an interruption to some longer story arc where the Flash is dealing with some time-travel-related emergency (perhaps dealing with Reverse-Flash or Abra Kadabra).

Still, I think there's another DC character that Kang might have a beef with, though he's never appeared here: The Time Trapper. Those two might even be at war!

@Cary: Were you thinking of any two in particular? (I know I've been wanting for a while to see Nocturne in here, though generally paired with either Jade or the Golden Age Sandman for very different reasons.)

  4. As talk here began about a sequel, the first person I thought would be appropriate as an unexpected twist would Ray Palmer, the Atom. Flash is famous for mucking about in time, but the Atom was always the more subtle, dipping into the Time Pool. I could see Kang going after the Flash, and during that distraction, the Atom could accomplish the heroes' real objective.

  5. Can a Kang Vs Waverider issue be in the...future? Or did I miss one in the...past?

  6. Kang & Brainiac might work together long term. I'd like to see all the B.A. Flash from the different time lines meeting each other cause of Kang.

  7. @Bob: yeah, Nocturne is one of them. The other kind of resembles a lobster-red Starfire. Is that Blink?

  8. @Cary: Blink comes the closest to that description, though she's actually more bubblegum-pink in color.

Isn't that 'Speed Force' energy manifesting around him?

  12. @Simreeve: Either that, or a hyper-evolved electric eel from Mt. Wundagore.

  13. If that's the case then Vandal Savage has to be involved somehow.
