Captain America and Green Lantern

I think that Steve Rogers and Hal Jordan would work very well together.  Hal is known for his will power and Cap arguably has the strongest will of any hero in the Marvel Universe.  The real question is how long Sinestro would put up with being partnered with Arnim Zola!

Cap met the Alan Scott GL in STF #372 and then again in STF #719...

  1. I'd love to see Cap wielding the ring. (Can't remember if he ever did in the JLA/Avengers crossover)

  2. So would I! Because, if he's worthy enough to wield Mjolnir in the MCU, he's worthy enough to be selected by a partner-less power ring in the STFU.

Speaking of which: I have to wonder if Sinestro is being mind-controlled, somehow. I mean, it's not like him to partner up with someone who doesn't have a good head on their shoulders!

  3. Actually I think John Stewart would be a good match for Steve Rogers - will and marine as well.

  4. So I'm guessing this Captain America is in an alternate reality than the one whom you've shown as being married to Wonder Woman?

  5. @John Small: more likely, a "boys' night out."

  6. @Cary: This makes me wonder if maybe Cap could team up with the Ninja Turtles, as Krang and Zola fight to get a head. #BadPunNoCookie

@John: It's quite possible that Steve's just out to protect an amicable ex. More likely, given how Ross' stories jump around in time, this one takes place before things got serious with Diana.

(Though mightn't it be interesting to see Steve Trevor on a "commisseration date" with Sharon Carter? I think they'd have a few good things in common.)

PS: St. Patrick's Day - Jade & Gamora.

  7. What? Cap and Diana have split up? Tell me it's not true!

  8. @Davejonz: I think it's another one of Kang the Conqueror's attempts at ret-conning. If so, I see only one hope to keep the split from becoming permanent. Have Kang "adjudicated" by Wade Wilson as...JUDGE DREDDPOOL!

  9. I have to admit. That's potentially even funnier than Cap and the TMNT!

    Oh Steve.. Yes Diana?
    Wait what? Where's Steve?
    I'm right here dear.
Not you, Steve!? Steve, where are you?
    I'm Steve Rogers Treavor.

  11. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Just saying.

  12. @Daviticus and Ross: then how about Artemis of Bana-Mighdal aiming a bow-and-arrow...at Hawkeye?

  13. If Super-Adaptoid absorbed Taskmaster's and Mimic's abilities, would it make a difference?

  14. Man I love these team-ups!!!!!

  15. I agree that Cap could use a green ring... but might not a blue one fit him better?

  16. Seconding the anonymously-suggested Dreddpool idea!

  17. @Simreeve: a red-white-and-blue power ring would be truly ideal. ;-)

  18. @Horsefeathers: actually, if I recall correctly, the only time Mimic and the Adaptoid fought each other, they proved mutually incapable of duplicating each other's collected abilities. Guess it's the super-power equivalent of making a xerox of a xerox.

Increasingly poor quality...and all that jazz.

  19. @Carycomic: Rage, life, AND hope? Sounds awfully complicated...

Maybe because he's decided that it's Diana who's the foretold 'Celestial Madonna'?

Fuelled by the emotion of Patriotism, presumably? Yes, that possibility occurred to me, too... but so did the difficulty involved in forming a 'corps' whose members Patriotism wouldn't all be directed in the same cause...
If he did have such a ring, I wonder how its effects would manifest differently from those of the various single-colour types? Hard-light constructs patterned (at least for him in stars and stripes, perhaps? Huh, now I want to see Cap -- with or without that ring -- teamed up with Yankee Poodle...
    ^_^

  21. @Daviticus: so's real life in general.

    Nuff said! ;-)

  22. @Simreeve: why not? If Ross can't bring Batman and Darkwing Duck together, for a one-shot one-on-one, I'd settle for Cap and YP.

  23. And, no, DW meets the JLA doesn't count!

  24. Batman met Darkwing Duck in STF #915 , October 2014

  25. Well, I don't know about you two, but I'd say that that issue is long overdue for a sequel! :-)
