In the trailer for the upcoming Stargirl series, I freeze framed on the shot with the photograph of the Justice Society to see what members were included. It looks like that's Alan Scott in the back row. I hope that image will not be his only appearance and we actually get to see the southpaw superhero in ring slinging action!
Saw Dr Fate but no Spectre. I'm confused about Crisis. They go to Purgatory to get Ollie's soul back to his revised body. A Jim Corrigan is there to give Ollie the Spectre power because it's his time. Why didn't that Jim/ Spectre just do the job?
ReplyDeleteOnce the new multiverse is made, time goes forward to the new now and the paragons are given their lives back along with their old Earth memories. But now, some people are being "memory ringed" to remember the memories of their counterparts from previous Earth. These are NOT the same people. Am I wrong here?
Sleeper agents for who? Hydra? SHIELD? Task Force X?
ReplyDeleteGiven the World War II setting, I'd say V-Battalion or O.S.S. were more likely.
ReplyDeleteMan, I love Gil Kane covers!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just hoping that Alan's personal history is close enough to the classic story that it's still possible to see Jade added to the cast. She's one of my favorite DC heroes, and she's been wiped from the continuity twice (along with her brother, of course).
ReplyDeleteLess significantly, while I've seen a shot of Beth Chapel in a copy of Charles McNider's Dr. Mid-Nite costume, I'm also hoping that she eventually goes to the yellow-and-black spandex number that I remember from the 70s and 80s.
@Tobor: I got the impression from Jim that the Spectre was a role that changes hands every few years. Plus, his personality and style wasn't right for this job, and Oliver had a personal connection to the Paragons -- Barry in particular -- that turned out to be vital.
that reminds me. i've been meaning to ask - Who is the Red Skull's dentist?
ReplyDelete"Ich bein Herr Doktor Uberbeit!"
ReplyDelete;-D
oh no! didn't he gum up the works last time?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm! This could be a prelude to this morning's cover.
ReplyDelete@hyram: maybe. Und, zen again, maybe nicht!
ReplyDeleteRoss Ross where have you been? Red Skull needs a challenge. Needs new blood. Needs to go up against THE MASK! Lightening crackle sounds here.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm! The Mask, Red Skull, Green Goblin, Black Mask..I think False Face has a brand new scheme to let loose...or is it the Chameleon and friends?
ReplyDelete@Hyram Horsefeathers: a color scheme?
ReplyDelete;-)
How many false faces can False Face wear if False Face wears super villain masked faces before they come for him?
ReplyDeleteo o
i'm not a robot but can I play with one?
How much ground could a groundhog hog if a groundhog could hog ground?*
ReplyDelete*That's what we call woodchucks in southern New England.
