I remember when everyone started talking about the first Sharknado, and being amused by it. I didn't understand why such a fuss was made though, as the SYFY channel had been cranking out these monster schlock movies for a while. My favorite is still the legendary Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus!

Personally, I didn't think the first Sharknado movie was good enough to even warrant one sequel. Let alone, four or five!

ReplyDeleteOn an American Dad episode "Blonde Ambition", Stan and Steve use an explosion to scare away guard dogs at a housing they were touring, riding a hot tub that the explosion blew, but the guard dog were also blown and were behind the tub, in a WILD mood!.

Neat job. Does anyone else think Aq's uniform is a fashion disaster? Amongst the really great, A grade Superhero costumes (Silver Age Flash and GL) the most I'd give Aq's is C minus. Why is the ruler of Atlantis still in this uninspired outfit.

ReplyDeleteIt helps a lot that the cover is so seamlessly done -- it looks like it could be an actual comic, and I sort of wish it was. Three-way crossovers just boggle the mind.
I could even see it as an actual Syfy movie with Jason Momoa (who would totally embrace the Sharknado franchise's tongue-in-cheek attitude) and Alexandra Shipp (maybe Halle Berry, whom I adore in the role no less, but Alex just seems more appropriate somehow).
Aside: Someone's suggested that certain elements in the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths are laying groundwork for a future crossover with the MCU. I'm a skeptically hopeful about that, but a "Crisis on Infinite Earths Invades the Marvel Universe" cover might be a fun project -- maybe for a Giant-Size Special.

ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the subject or sequels(?) . Remember a variety of uniforms worn by Arthur over the years. This orange and green, without fish hook- hand replacement, can be done very nicely by many artists.
@Davejonz: the bare chest and the grappling hook-trident-thingie were undeniably bigger disasters. IN preference to that, I'll take him wearing the orange-and-green outfit, anyday!

@Simreeve, luminescence helps for wanted light. But a dr doing an operation is going to need some kind of air pocket or pocket of sterilized water.

ReplyDelete@Carycomic Aquaman has always said "Great Poseidon" rather than ""Good God" or "Jesus Christ". Just like Wonder Woman always said "Great Hera" or "Great Zeus".
ReplyDeleteNeither of them ever said God, Jesus, Christ or anything of Christianity. Just like the Spectre never said "Great Poseidon" or Great Hera" in any of his adventures.
The Heaven in Aquaman's word balloon stills seems off to me character wise.
The Halliwells in CHARMED: TOS were neo-Wiccans. But, they still occasionally thanked God whenever one of their risky plans to beat the Big Bad-of-the-Week paid off.
