The Fatal Five go Back to the Future

With all of the reboots and sequels lately, I suppose it's a minor miracle that Back To The Future has not been targeted for a return to the big screen.  I'm sure a lot of it has to do with how well Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd performed their roles in the trilogy - it would be a tall order to try and replace them and the chemistry they brought to their scenes together.  Let's hope that Hollywood can resist trying to reinvent the property and let the original films continue to stand on their own.

  1. What J.L. Briggs said.

On a lighter note? It looks like Marty has five reasons to collect on what Captain Shazam owes him. ;-)

  2. Maybe it's because Bob Zemeckis has been working on the musical.

No, I'm not making this up. www.backtothefuturemusical.com/

  3. Maybe on the 50th anniversary of Scooby-Doo you could have a cover where Astro and the Jetsons go back in time to keep Scooby-Doo (Astro's) ancestor from being neutered before he sires off-springs (including, eventually(?), Astro himself),

  4. Back to the Future (1985)

The rights to the film and its sequels are owned by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. In a 2015 interview, Zemeckis maintained that no reboot or remake of the franchise would be authorized during his or Gale's lifetime.

  5. Wild combo. Running away is about his only option.

  6. Oooh! Oooh! Brainstorm.

The Fatal Five are out to get him because his son grows up to become...

...McFly-Man! Inspiration for the 31st Century's Mighty Legion of Justice.

  7. KKWRBruce, I heard there was a petition out there for a reboot, someone upset that Ghostbusters got one but Back To The Future didn't. It's good see they may not succeed because some franchises stop at the right time. They got a cartoon and a video game, they should be happy with that. The story ended and all the arcs fulfilled. I'm not even sure how you would make a fourth movie and the re-imaginings are getting on my nerves. The trilogy is just fine as is.

  8. Wow, another BTTF cover in less than a month :D
I'd like to see a Scooby-Doo/BTTF themed cover and as a note Anonymous above, check out Scooby-Doo Team-Up for a SD/Jetsons meeting (no neutering involved though)

Or maybe a Ghostbusters/Space Ghost fight lol

  9. I started laughing as soon as I saw this! Would never have thought of it myself! Brilliant, Ross!

Re: Casting for a remake... I used to think that if a remake ever happened (not that one is necessary), Robin Williams would have been PERFECT as the Doc. Part of me is sad that I'll never get to see that, but as has been said already, probably best to just leave well enough alone.

  10. Great Scott! What a heavy cover subject. Marty could easily be looking at his density.
This is as serious as a screen door on a submarine. Well, no worries. I'm sure Biff standing in for the Reverse Flash will save the day. It wouldn't take an Einstein to figure all that out. Just give me my Tab and I'm out of here.

  11. @det_Tobor: His density?! Validus, alone, has enough density in just his big toe to turn Marty into a blood-red pancake!

  12. @Anonymous: He didn't actually mean "density" (as in, what Star Boy can increase). He meant "destiny" (as in, what Dream Girl can more or less foresee).

  13. Always happy to see my favorite Evil Mystic Artifact, the Emerald Eye of Ekron. ^_^

I remember just before the Zero Hour reboot, the Legionnaires comic revealed that there were two Emerald Eyes of Ekron. What if only one of them were evil, and the other one good?

  14. So, if Ekron is missing both eyes, then how's he getting around the cosmos? With a retired member of the Canine Space Patrol as a guide dog?

  15. On second thought? That's not a bad idea. Only make the seeing-eye dog...Einstein Brown!

  16. If nothing else, that would certainly explain why the Fatal 5 are after Marty.

I'm sorry, but they are all outoftime!

with the Legion rebooted, does that mean the F.5 are getting one too?

  18. Since the 1985 movie had the heroes going back in time to 1955, and then forward to 2015, there's a 30-year cycle going on there. Another 30 years forward is 2045, so if that's the "past" of the reboot then it'd come in 2075. I'll be 114 years old then, so I won't hold my breath for it (certainly not at that age!).

  19. You could always move to Riverdale. They never die of old age, there!*

*Especially not on the gory TV series so very loosely based on (and set in) Archie Andrews' hometown.
