There's just something so fun about a team of heroic animals. I am an animal lover so the concept appeals to me as goofy as it is. Of course, when I was a kid, it didn't seem goofy to me at all, I took their adventures just as seriously as I did their human counterparts. My current cat Ace has no extra-feline powers, but I know within him beats the heart of a champion.
I only wish this had been a team-up with the Space Canine Patrol Agency.
ReplyDeleteAnd what an appropriate team to aid those super animals! Power Pack! A time of innocence...how I miss those days...
ReplyDeleteHousehold pets don't have the powers but they do have heart. The most unusual but true story of an animal saving a human was that of a bird who saved its sleeping owner from a fire by beating its little head on a window until the owner woke up to learn of her situation and flee the danger taking the bird along . While the owner easily escaped the fire, the small bird died from injuries acquired from its heroic gesture.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with John and jlbgriggs2; I would've preferred this to feature the Pet Avengers, or maybe the Road Rovers, especially given the text. The former team-up (Pet Avengers with Legion of Super-Pets) is something that I still would like to see here.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of that, cool cover as usual, Ross.
PS: I'm also still hoping we get to see Valkyrie and the Shining Knight team up, astride their respective winged horses. They have been together before -- in #2568 -- but Aragorn and Winged Victory haven't.
PS2: And of course the Klutz Commandos: Captain Klutz, the Tick, Awkwardman, Frog-Man, Inspector Gadget, Hong Kong Phooey, and Joxer. (And another possible place for Speed Bump.)

ReplyDeleteAnimals showing intelligence for me is not a game. I made friends with a squirrel who later got pregnant and had 2 babies. She brought them to me because she wanted me to help look after them and make sure they got food. The kids built a nest in the tree in front of my house. Not pets but not WILD animals by any means. This youtube I did shows the son, who also alerted me when a strange dog was coming up behind me.

This shows another posting I did. Animals and birds have shown the ability of making decisions that would go against "natural instinct" many times.
These were not pets but "animal streetkids".
I've had a dog and a cat that showed compassion towards other animals. Real life can be just as interesting as fiction sometimes.
Watch these particular Super-Pets turn out to be impostors.*
ReplyDelete*Proty II's protoplasmic progeny, to be precise! :-)
@Cary: Proty's precise protoplasmic progeny, playing possum, perhaps?
ReplyDeletePossibly!*
ReplyDelete*Lol!
How about Power Pachyderms?
ReplyDelete@Unknown: only if they were tricked into fighting the Adult Thermonuclear Samurai Elephants. Sort of an anthropomorphic version of STF #2700!
ReplyDelete@Anonymoous: The Power Pachyderms and the A.T.S.E. are one and the same!
ReplyDeleteFine, then! How about Power Pachyderms vs. Biker Mice From Mars?
ReplyDeleteHow about Slyvester and captain Americat from marvel tails.
ReplyDeleteOr, failing that, how about the TMNT meet King Mickey of Kingdom Hearts?
ReplyDeleteMissing Beppo the Super Monkey.
