Justice League of America and Darkwing Duck

When I was a kid, I thought it very odd that the JLA's original headquarters was located in a cave.  It seemed very low tech for a team that included such powerful characters (not to mention a billionaire).  I loved The JLA Satellite though, a much more suitable meeting place.  I really hope to see a live action version someday, based on the original Bronze Age design.

  1. Got an idea from this; Darkwing Duck & his Just'Us Ducks, the Zoo Crew, & the JLA (Just Lotta Animals)

  2. Well, I surely did not see this one coming. And that pun; a true groaner.

  3. Ha! Excellent!
I would love to read the DC/Hanna-Barbera team-ups - but they bring the cartoon characters into the DCU instead of the other way around!

  4. Ah yes, I remember this so well (21)..but did you know they didn't get it right on their first try? On an earlier attempt, the multi-universe channel selector got them the Bob Haney multi-universal Wonder Woman Beauty Pageant! (She was so often shown in battle with a variety of variations of herself, Haney went the other way.)

  5. Great cover. Great pun.

But I have to ask, did you intentionally replace Diana DRAKE (and colleagues) with DRAKE Mallard, or is that just a bonus coincidence?

  6. Maybe Superman and Underdog could be paired in a cover that deals with the subject of phone booths.

  7. I love the looks on the faces of the members of the JLA. I imagine that it would be the actual look if this were actually living beings.

  8. Okay I admit it I'm missing the pun everyone's talking about.

  9. It's a phonetic pun...similar to an old riddle my grandparents used to tell me:

    "What's 5-Q + 5-Q?"

    "10-Q!"

    "You're welcome."

  10. I wonder if DW needs their help against Dragonus (arch-enemy of the Mighty Ducks)?

  11. That's a brilliant point, AirDave. I would sure be more apt to read the DC/H-B team-ups if they took place in the H-B universe--or even if the H-B characters were drawn in their classic styles. The same goes for the more recent DC/Looney Tunes crossovers.

  12. I have no idea what I did to make my last comment come out the way it did. My apologies.

  13. I'll second the notion of the Justice Ducks and the Zoo Crew teaming up. It's a cool notion in itself, and would make for some interesting interactions.

  14. I'm still waiting for Disney/Marvel to do a Darkwing Duck/Spider-Ham team-up but I'm worried it would be the overly cartoony version they do these days.

  15. Well... the team did contain a billionaire (I guess two of them, with Green Arrow), but a billionaire that *also* chose to operate out of a cave (actually... two of those as well, since Green Arrow had to copy Batman in everything...).

  16. ShadowWing Tronix, I don't know if this is pertinent, but I have a niece who used to work for Disney. According to her, it is Disney policy to keep their various properties (Disney, Star Wars, the Muppets, Marvel, etc.) separate.

Of course, Disney's policy doesn't mean that Ross can't do a cover with Mickey Mouse, Spider-Man, Luke Skywalker and Kermit the Frog (or some similar grouping) getting together for a Disney summit meeting....

  17. I'll settle for a Jonn Jonzz/Biker Mice from Mars team-up.

  19. Have Dope Rider (High Times Magazine) team up with The Biker Mice From Mars.

  21. Speaking of the Muppets, how about Pigs in Space meeting Hawkman and Hawkgirl or the Green Lantern Corps?

Or Iron Man with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker?

  22. And I mean just one-on-one! Not buried in the membership of a large group.

  23. @Anonymous &SonofJack: so, no meeting ever of blond Disney Herc and red-beared Marvel Herc? :-(

  26. Where's Hawkman? Did he get stuck with the...
    bill?

  27. Either that; or he's "hawking" something on Ebay.
