I am still amazed that we have not seen a live action She-Hulk yet. I've said it before - A lawyer that deals in meta-human cases who is also a superhero herself would make for a great Movie or TV series filled with action, humor, and courtroom drama. Plus, Jennifer Walters has such a great personality, I would think it would be a fun role to play for an actress.

I recall a few stories where Mxyzptlk had to go on a trial in his home dimension. One such story was adapted for the Superman animated series. Maybe the court case these villains face is of alien or extra dimensional origin.

ReplyDeletePersonally I'm just a little disappointed that Daredevil never had at least a cameo or passing mention of a pre-Shulkie Jen Waters. It would have been a very nice Easter egg for Marvel fans.

That looks like a pre-Crisis line-up to me.
Sgt Snorkle, Jay Johnson; I think those guys are the Toyman (Jack B. Nimble/ COTSF) who adopted the identity, till the original murdered him & the red is Metallo. I think the original cover was from an issues where Superman found the villains assembled in Clark Kent's apartment.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if the pictures are online or not but I remember The Comics Buyers Guide and Comics Scene Magazine running pictures of a proposed She-Hulk movie back in the 90s. It was to star Brigitte Nielsen. The costume at the time was comic accurate and yes she was green. There was also talk she would show up in one of the Hulk movies at the time but she didn't. Instead Thor and Daredevil did. I forgot why the movie was never made.
ReplyDeleteJay, there were a few recurring female characters, but I can't think of many. Faora, Syrene (the former Mrs. Lord Satanis), later the Silver Banshee. At one stage the Ultra-Humanite was in the body of Dolores Winters, but I don't know if that counts. Then there are those from Apocalips like Granny Goodness and Amazing Grace who are general bad guys rather than Superman-specific enemies.

plus Lady Blaize (sister to Lord Satanis), Livewire (not the LSH one), and Ursa (Phantom Zone villain, introduced via the films and used in the comics later on in place of Faora)...
I'd count Ultra-Humanite as Winters and Faora/Ursa. Don't know much about Livewire and what I do know is confused by the cartoon and CW versions. Didn't Silver Banshee start out as a Wonder Woman adversary? And I made a point to stay far away from anything to do with Lord Satanis.

She actually started in the cartoons and, like Harley Quinn, made the jump from there into the comics.
