Storm Vs. Red Tornado

We haven't seen much of Red Tornado lately, and I hope that he find a new home soon. I have always enjoyed him as a member of a team - if the Justice League roster is filled, maybe he would fit in with the misfits on The Terrifics.  Or if the Justice Society is poised to return soon, could we see him back with his original group?

Long time followers of this blog will know that Storm is referring to events that took place way back in STF#82...

  1. Great cover, Ross! Amazing as always!

P.S. I watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse yesterday and was blown away by how good it was. I mean, I never thought the day would come where Spider-Ham would ever make it to the big screen! With that in mind, may I suggest a team up/battle between Bat-Mite and Spider-Ham? To me, the two represent the more wacky and ridiculous sides of Batman and Spider-Man which are often brushed over or ignored in favoUr of darker and more grounded adaptations.

  2. One I thought would be interesting: Batman & the Vision.
As for Spider-Ham, how about him & Mr. Myx pickles vs the new & improved Condiment King? A Not Brand Echh version? ...And Ross, you have fantastic composition skills.

  4. This is a fantastic cover, Ross. "Weather-related power outage" indeed!

I'd love to see Red Tornado return as a heroic guest star on Supergirl or one of the other CW shows. Maybe he could become a part of Crisis on Infinite Earths next fall.

@det_Tobor: Do you mean Mr. Mxyzptlk (mix yez pit lik)?

I do like the idea of Condiment King making an appearance on this blog, though. He seems like an appropriate foe for the Tick, though it might be fun to see him against someone more serious like Dr. Strange or the Punisher.

  6. I'd love to see him as the "Good Guy" pitted against a post-Elseworlds Amazo as the "Bad Guy." The televersion of the latter being the _only_ thing I liked about this year's CW crossover.

  7. @Ross I just looked and I can't find any one-on-one match-ups with Batman and The Vision. The closest I could located was #800 back in 2014, and that was The Vision and Scarlet Witch vs the JLA.

  8. JUst click on the "The Vision" label and you will see them, don't forget to click on page 2 if all the covers don't show up on the first page

  9. Red Tornado was last seen in Challengers Mountain during Dark Metal. It was implied he, Hawkman and Starman (Will Payton version) were agents of the Challengers used to explore the Dark Multiverse.

  10. @det_Tobor: the Batman's one-on-one's with The Vision (both with and without the Scarlet Witch) were depicted by Ross back in Oct. 2010 and Dec. 2011, respectively.

  11. Random idea: What if Frank Castle and Richard Castle found out that they were brothers? It'd probably be a bit hard to pull off on this blog, since I don't think the latter Castle has ever appeared in comics (and of coruse his surname is a nom de plume, though there could still be a connection through his father). Marvel has done comics "adaptations" of some of the Derrick Storm stories, but that might be considered cheating on at least two fronts.

  12. You mean, the Youngblood version of Ben Grimm?

  14. Young Justice is getting a comic again, albeit in an 'all-ages' series that apparently won't be part of DC's mainstream continuity: Maybe a version of Reddie will be used as their adult supervisor again?

  15. Cary Comic yes only Badrock was an idiot where Ben is not, and Ben is like able whereas Badrock was annoying like snarf with super strength.
