This is a fight I have always wanted to see. It would give both characters a chance to really go all out an not hold anything back from the battle, as they are sometimes forced to do. Would Superman's array of powers be enough to withstand the mightiest vocal chords in the galaxy?
Black Bolt's bride didn't get along too well with the last son of Krypton, either, as seen in STF #1842...
Superman has been hit by sonic weapons before (hey were is the hero vs villain team up of Black Canary and Black Bolt against Sonar and Klaw?) but nothing on Black Bolt level; his powers appear to be sound triggers psionics.
ReplyDeleteAnother heroine to consider is Songbird, w/ her Black Bolt, Black Canary you might have the making of another team. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeletePerhaps Superman could trick Black Bolt using super-ventriloquism.
ReplyDelete...since you have added a third hero to you voice team i suggest a third member to the bad guys team...Angar the Screamer....
ReplyDelete...perhaps one the teams could be called "The Soundbites"...
...another great concept and cover, Ross...
What, no love for Tyroc? LOL. I'm black, and that character embarrasses me.

You have to scroll down and read the various scream effects. Ridiculous.
CCCIIIRRR!!!
Reg
Reg, the very first comic book i ever brought (way before i began to hold on to them to actually form a collection) was a Legion of Superheroes comic with Tyroc screaming on the cover. I loved it. As a 9 year old Caribbean-American, I was delighted to see a Black superhero living in the future!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, when you think about it, this could be part of the Kree war mentioned by "Mantis," on yesterday's cover. And, given her use of first-person pronouns (so cleverly pointed out by Ward Hill Terry), I would surmise that both she and the "Medusa" from STF #1842 are one and the same. Specifically? A Skrull agent-provocateur!
ReplyDeleteThink about it! The Skrull Empire has had their dupas handed to them, time and again, by the superheroes of the Marvel Universe. So, why not have the superheroes of the DCU do their dirty work for them? A ploy that I'm sure not even the Watcherized Nick Fury foresaw coming.
Wouldn't Blackbolt vs. The Scream Queens have been more appropriate?
ReplyDelete;-)
Now I want to see Black Bolt vs Aliens, with a riff on the tagline 'In Space No One Can Hear You Scream!'
ReplyDeleteUnless I'm wrong, a place similar to the blue area of the moon exists (or rather existed) in "Dick Tracy" and was inhabited by aliens called Lunarians (including the late Moon Maid).
ReplyDeleteVery cool cover. A shame about that INHUMANS TV series though.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the series; how about the new Ms. Marvel meeting her predecessor's long-lost sister (as played by Melissa Benoist)?
ReplyDeleteJean Charles, was it this one?

If you can't team him up with Donald Duck, I'd settle for Mxyzptlk meeting Dr. Strange.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, my namesake, did you post your Mxyzptlk and Dr. Strange comment, in response to my comment yesterday on Mxyztplk and Ducks, before or after Ross posted that exact cover?
ReplyDeletePlease rephrase the question, more clearly, in 25 words or less.

Reg! Wow, thats a great cover, but its another one. I may try to re-read them online. What an age we live in when almost all comics in history are niw digitally available online!!!
ReplyDeleteCOVER OF THE MONTHE!
ReplyDeleteMajor shout out to Super Team family. They’re killing it with these covers. Absolutely amazing 🤩
