Superman and Mr. Fantastic

Krypton isn't a perfect show, but the first season turned out to be a lot more watchable than I had expected.  Brainiac made for a suitably creepy big bad, and the quick glimpse we got of Doomsday was a lot more faithful than the version we got in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I am hoping that Adam Strange will become more faithful to his comic book counterpart as well when the show returns.  I'd love to see other DCU races introduced for Season Two... bring on the Thanagarians, Okaarans, and Khunds!

Superman first faced Annihilus in STF #873...

  1. please use airwave in some kinda team up either airboy or northstar or cannonball just for examples

  2. The only complaint I have with KRYPTON is admittedly more of a nitpick. I wish they could have kept Superman's great-grandfather's name as "Var-El."

  3. Cool team-up, even cooler cover, especially the choice to use Mignola's Annihilus from a pin-up he did. Wish Mignola had been allowed to work on a FF mini-series set in the Negative zone or so with nothing but monsters.

  4. Thanks, Dale - I used 4 very different art styles on this one, but I like how they all go together.

Why not have Irona from Richie Rich, Hazel from the comic strip of the same name, Alice from the Brady Bunch, American Maid from The Tick, and Petunia from Little Audrey cartoons assemble as The Ready Maids!

  7. Krypton was slow for the first season but it had the best looking version of Brainiac to date.

  8. @Anon: I'm not at all certain, but I suspect that they named him Seg-El as a tribute to Jerry Siegel.

    1. Harry, which Airwave were you thinking of? Golden Age or Silver?

  9. @BB: I've no problem with Seg-El. It's a long overdue tribute to the man! I was referring to his own grandfather; the one retroactively renamed "Val-El." It's too uncomfortably close to "Val-Or." The insipid attempt to amalgamate the Silver Age Mon-El and Supergirl (during the first decade after COIE #12)!
